{quote} If modified a bit the dashboard on my initial post. Could you try that, and also if it's eating up too many resources, instead of using "From Market Watch", try using "From user defined list", and put it a few pairs that you want to follow. Since it's doing a MTF analysis, it can be quite demanding on you PC, also depending on how much memory it has, etc.

That is what I did and it loaded like a shotgun.
Thank you for your patience, Barraka.

I think the issue of freezing/hanging the terminal is related to the recent history being available or not. Applying dashboard to an instance that is up to date with history bars for all pairs & timeframes is no problem, all works fine. However, if it's an instance of MT4 that does not have up to date history, you may encounter the big freeze.

Interim resolution is to go into a chart for each pair shown in the dashboard and allow MT4 to download history as normal. After that is done, only then apply the dashboard to a chart.

Better solution. I think the dashboard itself would require modification to allow it to download the history in an orderly fashion (loop through pairs and CopyRates() until all pairs up to date for all timeframes) before it attempts to calculate any signals.

If you get a persistently hung terminal which still has a dashboard attached to a chart even after re-starting which hangs again immediately, I'd suggest you shut down MT4, delete the offending chartxx.chr file from the following folder and then restart MT4.

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\GUID\profiles\currentprofilename
bold & italic items will be different for each user...

the .chr files can be opened using notepad and one will contain a reference the dashboard indicator by name in there.

P.S. Issue evident with 31 pairs in market watch ( 28 plus 2 oil and gold)

Regards, Paul

Thanks for the suggestions. What you suggest may very well be the case on certain instances. Though on my side, I've tested the dashboard on a broker / MT4 platform that I very rarely open & use, and it's worked fine instantly. I'll have a look into it regardless, in the meantime if you want you can test the new version that I replaced on the first post, it seemed to have helped another user that had the freezing problem previously.

You can delete the indicator by going to the mql folder. And start-up again.

I've improved a few things on the dashboard, so releasing the version "2.1" of it (which you will find on the first post). The main addition is that you now have a mutli-timeframe view for each pair.

Man, your dashboard slows down the screen more than only considerably!

Yeah I know, it's quite demanding since it does HTF analysis. It functions very well on my side, as well as other people I have shared it with, but I know it's also dependent on each person's rig & how much computing ressources they have, so unfortunately there's not much I can do on that side :/

Hi Barraka, as can be seen in the screenshot the two MAs are green when they should be red as in the original dashboard on the right. I don't see this is computing power. I have a one year old Acer Aspire 8gb ram 64 bit 466GB memory.

Hi, I think there might be a bit of confusion here, and I probably need to adjust it on the dashboard.
When you're using the "Aggro" version, there is no need to look at the MA's, because there is no MA cross since it's a channel. It makes sense for the "Standard" version of course, and depending on the setup they might be green or red. But in aggro, there's no such thing as an chart MA cross, which is why the color itself is irrelevant.

Just a suggestion:
Maybe in that case - aggro - it might be a lot less confusing (& a reduction in frustration) to not display it in that mode?

Hi Barraka, so in the GER30 on the right of the image the original version MAs seem to go red when the in the indicator when the channel heads down. Am I wrong?

Hi,

On the first version, the aggro version was not supported, it was only standard. So, the MAs go red because there's an actual cross of the chart MAs.
On the left image, with the new version, you have selected the aggro version. In that version, there is no MA cross, it's simply a channel. So, that column (MA) on the dashboard is irrelevant, since there's no cross.

Yes, I thought initially it was straightforward, but I understand how it can be confusing. So, in the next implementation, I'll just remove that column in the aggro version.

If possible, I'll try to reduce the lag / freeze time, but I'm sceptic as to the possibility to do that, I know there's quite a lot of calculations going on intitially when the dashboard is loaded, and more calculations going on on each new bar, since there are 3 TFs to calculate compared to the original version.

If I see no improvements, I'll just add the HTF view as an option, so that for those that have slower PCs, or more stuff on their charts that already take up quite a lot of ressources, they can simply choose to display the current TF (like the original version), with the added option to choose between standard, aggro, and baseline.

Once again: only a suggestion (I am no coder and can't really judge)
Maybe talk to cja (https://www.forexfactory.com/cja)
I use many dashboards coded by him (all MTF) and they don't slow my computer down considerably.

I used user-defined list and set 28 forex symbols, it doesn't slow down the system at all even though I am also running other multisymbol scanner at the same time. I do notice that when I choose "From Market Watch", the slowing down occurs. You can try using user-defined list and see if it solves the problem.

Another thing you can try is to change the MAX bars settings to a lower value to see if it helps. This is my MT4 setting, if your PC has lower specs, can reduce the max bars and see if it helps.
