Great advice as usual Pat. I totally agree. I love reading this thread and have learnt a lot from it, there are some amazing traders here, but when it comes to scalping I only care about momentum and can see what I need to know on the chart with minimal analysis. My entries are never the most clinical, and many of my exits are terrible, but it doesn't really matter as my plan can survive bad management - and frequently does! When I first joined FF I kept second guessing myself and it took me out of the flow. While it is very gratifying to correctly predict the next move, or be on the side of the right, I find it is better to let the market just do its thing and ride its momentum; it is easy to get attached to a prediction, even when conditions change, and devastating to remain attached to the wrong prediction.

Bainbrito, your word constant really got me. I think you have a very good point here.

Most traders have no trading edge, they make a couple of lucky trades, bank a profit, now what they do is common to all of us.
They go big doubling their lot size. Instead of winning, they lose and they lose at twice the rate they won. The profit melts away.
This is a business, the business is about finding your own edge, being logical, not chasing the market and being prepared to keep applying the edge in spite of loosing sometime.

Lose small, cut your losses fast, as fast as you were to close out your winning trades.
Many traders here will hang onto a loss letting it run and run. However they will not let a winning trade do the same.
This imbalance is one of the reason traders fail. They take much bigger losses than wins.
Forex Traders have a tendency to think they are right and the market is wrong, if my trade goes south I am out, the market is telling me I am wrong, listen to the market its is always right.

You have a very good trade taken from the chart. Being able to read charts IS really your skill. I think it’s actually beautiful how you can interpret charts just make sense for the trades.

Keep up the good work, and we can learn a lot from you.
