Since you're trading 5M intraday swings, so none of HTF matters.
While someone might think they made a lot of pips because of a H4 trade, they missed all the reverses, so you typically make 2-4 times the number of pips over the same period of time, not only from trading both directions, but from more precise entries/exits.

You just trade until the market changes direction and take whatever it gave you.
A time frame is just a time frame. Look at any time frame and the graph has two values, time and price.
Price is variable, not time. You choose a time frame that consistently covers the spread and provides enough range between entry and exit to make profit.

Other than that, it is a matter of your commitment, lazy, or engaged, that will determine your business plan.
They all make the same designs. It is up to you to choose.

If we can breach the Weekly Fib Pivot (1.41257) I like 1.41700 for T/P and potential sell. A lot of confluence there for me. Decending upper trend line, Weekly FibR1, 61.8% retracement of move from 1.42503 - 1.40342 and also near ADR high.

However, I can see it ranging now until closer to FOMC so this might only be a news driven scenario (gambling).

Trading is definitely tricky, i love this market. Things can change pretty fast and predictions we made can become outdated in hours. We gotta adapt and move with the market.

This morning i was long, actually i was holding those longs for a month. Before that, i was also long People that know me for a while here will remember. Closed them after today's UK inflation data:

It indicated the opposite yesterday. I can't fight with the fundamental dynamics, i may even open a GBP/USD short. Not today though, i gotta see FED's interest rate decision first.

So the point is, if you were telling that GU is "short" before today, you were wrong. But yes, "short" looks more attractive right now (gotta watch FED first)

All the guys that said "uptrend" yesterday and before, they were all right. Those who said short were wrong.

Things have changed in hours, that's what makes this market profitable but also confusing & tricky. So some of us are winning by an accident which is the most dangerous thing in trading.

All in all, you have a point and you may be right. What matters is your timing though.
