Dean's info and knowledge though shared in his room was & is still brillant, as we know dean developed different system's, I liked some and some not so much.

I can share much more from Dean Malone if possible. but TMS might not be the place ? or is it?

With back testing I do not think some examples over a couple of days. I mean at least a couple of hundred trades per instrument and time frame you use. I do not mean EA because it will perform bad anyway because it will take a lot of bad entries. I understand that BIGE TDI repaint but is there an TDI that doesn't repaint that
you can do for back testing? With back testing over many sample you will get good information of the performance of the strategy: winning %, average risk:reward, number of winners in a row, number of looser in a raw (this number you need to know so you doesn't panic over a couple of loosers).

Please share and help traders build a strong foundation which Big E had. This will help people here build that same strong foundation for trading TMS 5-Method.

That is entirely up to you to decide. The thread has no one controlling it, so you can decide if you want to abide by BigE's wishes, or add posts that have nothing to do with the 5-method.

Of course, you can also rationalize away whatever off topic material that you post by emmulating Vincent and stating that you are adding to the "evolution" of the 5-method, even though that "evolution" is actually just more off topic talk that belongs in a seperate thread.

The solution to avoid repainting of RSI MA due to coding flaw when using tick data, are two.

1. use iRSI and iMA functions in MQL4 but use array to cache manually TDI values at last tick of candle (close of candle). Although i___() often give slightly different values than MT4 built in indi and the actual equations. This is a known issue of MT4 for long.

2. code the equation using MQL4. It requires additional array for RSI on top of the 2 MAs. A few more lines of codes but the values will be accurate.

the “coding flaw” is not a problem originated from coders. It’s simply MQL4’s logic of calculations for immediate last candle is referring to first tick of new candle instead of supposed last candle compared with other newer coding platforms.

But when come to TMS using EA to backtest is useless simply because of the discretionary decisions
if manual backtesting then BigE’s TDI green red is okay. Otherwise add RSI and 2 MAs manually with built in indicators can do the same job. They will paint the same lines. See it yourself

So jump in, find a no repaint TDI, run the backest, and make a report. I am confident that everyone will appreciate the insights from the information that you find.

No need for all these disinformation and changes.

Just use the same TDI in Post#25 the same one Big E used and trade in realtime live market and follow his posts and his rules.

You can run the TDI #25 in MT4 strategy tester and using the F12 function step-by-step forward each price bar and observe the price action and TDI behaviour. This will show the actual TDI lines when each price bar closes.

Very time consuming when you do this tests for 10 years history price data.

Best way is still real-time live forward testing here in this thread.

I do a lot of back testing for my own strategy. Tekkies should do the same to avoid psychological issue when she trading her real account. It's zero point for me to test TMS if I do not use the strategy myself because I do not think like you or Tekkies (our performance will be different)

I think that the question that has never been answered satisfactorily is, what are the results when entry is decided only by the green cross red with acceptable angle and perhaps if stochastics confirms direction. Of course, a variety of exit schemes would be required to be run and compared as well.

But in any case, that would provide some statistics that can help determine how much the green cross red contributes to the outcome. If the performance is poor for every exit strategy, then it would be clear that the discretionary elements are of significant importance.

Personally, I would not use the MetaQuotes platform for backtesting. There are plenty of other platforms available that have better backtest performance and that have tools that make it easier to write and modify backtest strategies.

As if sitting in front of the screen in real time will be so much faster than pushing F12. Thanks for further confirmation that you "lightbulb moments" are as useful as bailing out your sinking ship with a seive.

According to your trade explorer you add to losing positions. That is not trusting TDI.

You can look at the charts shared by posters here, and I think it’s up to you to think who is practicing TMS.

TMS has some rules, but timeframe is optional, for your reference

The objective of posting here should be showing how traders practice TMS rules, and to show if it works or does not work with the posters.
so I don’t think of a reason to praise a winning trade, or tease a losing trade.

I suspect that you would find little difference between the results from using the post#25 TDI and a "corrected" version. But a "corrected" version would enable proper backtesting.
