That UK pensioner that I am talking about was conned out of his £5K and no one from FXTM wanted to comment according to the tv presenter. I really have no idea of how good / bad or who they are. I’ve had real bad experience when Alpari went belly up, so I feel for Georginson. Different scenario I guess, but similar ending.... the money has gone.

FxTM (my first broker btw) is Alpari child - a broker with bad reputation. I left them when I found out this is a 'side project'.
If I remember correctly, they ( Alpari) lost their reputation in mid 2000 .
What did the support team say?

It was a real legal nightmare for a few months, but eventually I recovered my account as probably most of the other traders, but luckily I did not have a position opened that day when the Swiss Central Bank f*cked up everything and there was an enormous spike, which bankrupted Alpari in a matter of minutes. That spike was the biger dispute speaking from memory – whether there were stops and why the stops did not work, some made thousands in seconds, some lost thousands in seconds, etc...
Did you place your stop loss order? Why not?!? Story of my life...

They are not scam broker, it's the CBN dollar naira rate peg that was removed and it affected Naira trading Accounts.

thats what ended my trading and only now i started back up again. Had to wait for my money and i basically thought what the hell, lost 2K on a 10K account. Liquidated positions instantly

Wont touch them with a barge pole

That was probably one of the biggest legal manipulations of the markets, but…. what can you do – it’s the nature of the beast

What happened to the guys who had positions open? Did they have to pay for the negative balanced on their accounts that got filled well bellow the their stop losses.

The ones that were on the right side of the spike obviously made loads of money in a matter of seconds and arguably wanted the profits, the ones without stops basically were f*cked on the spot and they couldn’t argue. The ones with the stops though as you can imagine had massive slippages and had to argue with the liquidators whether the stops should have been obeyed regardless of the circumstances.
