a trend is a trend until it isnt, this particular bull trend weekly base 1409 has a 38fib 3160, that would not necessarily be trend reversal fib 50 is @ 2812 again not necessarily reversal, pa could easily pull back to those levels and continue bull trend, to catch a trend reversal, you need to allow for pull backs, as noted the fib pull backs on weekly are quite chunky, then hold through the pull backs under daily this all means nothing :-)

You need to sell more Moty, to make the buyers week :-). I tried that at 1.39 yesterday and got stuck in loss (Being stupid, tried the trades without stoploss and got screwed).
Patience and planning is the key, lesson learnt hard way.

Still wish that the price retraces before going north, fingers crossed.

Current feeling is down to 1.3907-30 before resumption of long but as Moty says, the buyers step in strong every time theres a small dip

Yeah, and now we are just ranging. I am waiting for volatility on both sides to build up (already there) and drop enough, before I consider going back in.

Its good to have a trend momentum strategy or two for these situations. And who knows when its going to end.

Yes laugh at me, but I find it is quite an amazing and beautiful river, but only once one is in it! Often takes a lot of work to get a toe in, and let oneself get taken away by the stream. But it is worth it.

Am waiting for now gentle stream...

Going back 10 years ago on the weekly, there was a top during w/c 25.April.2011. Ten years cycle is a significant time period and if history repeats as per Gann, we might see a GBP USD top by Thursday but not before Wednesday this week (I guess around 1.4050/75) . If this is the case, 1.36 comes next then 1.33…… Just my 10 cents.

Wishing you well and hope you sleep well.

What are the logic behind this price retrace/pullback and resume.

Price moved strongly in ONE way... our virtual averaging opened level after level... a strong movement. ( I use SNR Level in this model)

I don't see any meaningful retraces yet.

We need to find when the point which, movement must (and has) lost momentum. Sign of weakness.

Markets can't move very long in ONE direction without quite good retraces.

So we wait with patience those moments when a trend starts to calm down... So we enter.... if SL hit we enter again. and again.


For my part I do not mind the slow and boring trading days for one important reason.

It is usually the calm before the storm.

Some traders despise the so called "noise" of the market.

Among the other things I study fundies, other markets, oil, gold, bond and stock indexes) I watch the "noise."

If you learn to read the "noise" you can have another trading tool attached to your brain.

I watch price movement not just because I want pips, but to analysis what storm might be brewing ....... or not.

If I read the tea leaves correctly that will mean more pips or at least not losing pips.

Meanwhile, I try to scalp myself a bit to get to the target 1.401.
