... there were so many hi-prob invitations to get long there weren't there? Price > 30 day adr, and @ 61.8% downside extension of y/day's daily candle, the 1, 3 and 5min regular bullish div, the oscillator extreme o/s 15min and 30min , and then if you missed the divergence set-ups the 3 x 15min pinbars, then the 30min pinbar that closed outside the lower 20bol. Nice end to the week. 30min below, (by way of example.) {image}

... and of course I forgot to mention that 1hr set-up exactly as 30min did but with a bullish hammer close. 1hr below.

Just had the weekly close on this gmt+3 (daylight savings time) broker.

The Weekly candle closed as some kind of bearish-bodied spinning top candle, the body is inside of the previous week's bullish engulf body and the candle itself including wicks is inside that previous week's total candle including wicks. the wkly range was 209pips so we had a sub 13week awr week @ 77% of that metric. The weekly remains in a general fractal uptrend.

The Daily candle on Friday closed as a bearish-bodied candle after a steep fall from 3859-3831, so a >30day adr day. The t/f is probably now in some range consolidation as 4hr above, and off that last uptrend hi of 4242.

The 4Hr remains in a typically apparently random/messy but wide 4017-3778 range where it has been up and down all week ,and the previous week too. Obviously, as of right now it looks like price may resolve south, but within this range it has looked like that before, and conversely like it would resolve northwards too - such is a range. The final 4hr candle of the week (gmt+3 broker on daylight saving time) closed bearishly.

Next week, Fed Chairman J. Powell is scheduled to be on his feet a few times and flap his gums together, (Mon, Tues & Weds,) as is Uk Boe Gvnr Bailey a couple of times, as well as some other C-lister support acts throughout the week. Usual raft of data releases scheduled including U.s PMI, Uk Cpi, employment numbers, and Retail sales, & U.s Final Gdp stuff.

So, what comes next? No idea - trade what we see...in the absence of not knowing - that's what we should always do.

Wkly, then Dly, then 4hr below.

... It's been a narrowing 4hr/Dly range in the 2 weeks since it's 4017 then 3778 extremes were established on the 4th then 5th March. Bit of a Dly triangle / pennant thingy in the making? Does it provide any clues as to probable future near-term price discovery? Dly below.

I need some advice on patience.. I’ve exited early before TP reached so many times this week, like today I had a solid sell in place at 1.39300 with TP set at 1.38500 but took profit before the massive drop down. I guess I need to identify true reversals better. I usually pay too much attention to the 5m & 1m when in a trade which can give too many false signals. Any advice on this? I’d love to be able to let a trade run and not stare at the charts but I can’t help monitoring it. Ironically my best trades all come in the Asian session when I’m asleep...

Hi,
Since you asked for advice, let me tell you something... on my early days, i had the similar problem.
it's more common then we think or talk about. The biggest emphasis is given to "entry", everyone is looking for the best place to enter, with minimum to zero drawdown possible, and when a great entry is made, we can brag...."look at this! i'm in from this point!!!", usually if trade is green.
then what? Some will take profit to early, others let it run until it reverses back and a trade that was 50/60 pips positive becomes a "panic exit" with 10 pips only.
This is more common than traders talk.
This happens ALWAYS that a trade is not planned, or your "system/strategy" is neglecting TAKE PROFIT.
PLAN FIRST.
if you plan to take 10 pips target, take 10 pips. success case. case closed
if price continuous same direction, let it go, you had your WIN.
Now, how to set proper TP?
it depends on your trading style. S/R is very common, Fibs as well, ADR...you just need to check you trading style, scalp/intraday/trailer/swinger and find what suite you.
to lazy people (like me) a simple 1/3 ADR grid works like charm.
if you trade or usually have a m15 chart open, check chart bellow, identify your today's entry and see where would you possible take profit and let me know.
Stay cool, a nice weekend all.

Honestly...

Trading is 1% theory and 99% practice.

This means that you'll never get to do it successfully until you're in the field,

getting your butt kicked by the market, and learning along the way.

No book or course will teach you that because you need to experience it yourself.
