after practicing for a while I noticed that if the price makes a high and leaves a long tail (pinbar), if we enter a trade, the SL will be quite far. Should we ignore that transaction in that case?

If I am reading you right, I call those big bar trades. I generally will take those as I can get good movement often. Yes you will have a big SL on those. If it runs against me I will pull the plug quickly and not take the big loss.
