Probably my mistake too.
My other point is that the fish will go where the food is, whether in British or "EU" waters.
It's up to the skilled fishermen to catch them wherever they may be.

In a no-deal situation Europe would have to buy more fish from the UK. Whilst the EU figures this out (over-fishing/ Supply < Demand) we could easily sell our fish to the Chinese as they struggle to feed their people.

It's this assumption that is the problem.

Markets for certain goods won't appear out of thin air... the market is ~Europe... its the biggest Single market in the world & one we will not find anywhere else...

America, The pacific, Asia or Africa will not be buying the goods we supply to Europe.

If we leave with No Deal there will be no market for these goods, they will not be sold. The fishermen will make less money despite Johnsons lies.

You've not been following this situation ?

If the UK steals back Quotas and takes full control of its waters & stops EU fishermen entering UK waters, the EU will ban UK fish from being sold on the continent.

Norway will ban Scottish boats from fishing in its waters.

You cannot have your cake and eat it in a 2 way trading partnership... life, business and agreements just do not work like that. Its pie in the sky.

The also assumed that lockdowns will eliminate COVID. Well, that's not working.....why not try NOT locking down?

It is bollocks but is also symbolic.

The fact of the matter is the UK is in the wrong on this... problem stemmed from Johnson lying to get the vote through and beat David Cameron, it was an easy sell, but it was a lie.

If the UK leaves on a No Deal it will in no way play out as people think.

Europe and the countries therein do not have to buy any UK goods & even if a deal were to land EU would not be buying as many UK goods due to hike in costs...

The fishermen & all most everyone on this island will be worse off, regardless.

Surely you can't travel that far out for fish ,scale of economics

Yes on factory boats they are huge and spend months out at sea... all fish is snap frozen.

The "UK fishermen" who are making a big stink about this are the big fishing corporations who have the most to lose. They're also the ones who have driven out small independent fishermen (who are now subcontracting for them) out of business.

That's the world over isn't it... everything is headed in that direction.

Amazon & Tesco for shops & big brewery companies for hospitality.

The difference is, Fishermen still make very good money or at least, they did, before Brexit.
