I think no deal Brexit was priced in back in 2016. Will find out over the course of the next month.

brexit “move” the pound will be down well into next year.

the U.K. is half way through chopping off its own head.

it’s not going to be a knee jerk reaction & will likely bottom out around March time.

So true, i dont think they're gonna let the market just drop down to 1.29 and further too easy of a trade rn.

Also the big boys have access to eons more information than us retail and news reporters do.
Pretty sure they alrdy know whats gonna happen and have prepared

We can revisit this thread in January 2021. The Brexit low was 1.16ish? At the moment dollar depreciation means that figure is revised up some to say 1.27. If there is a no deal and it doesnt get lower than 1.27 it would have already been priced into Sterling in 2016. If we get back to 1.16 it means the market was expecting a deal and no deal wasnt central case.

I don't think market makers were thinking about anything other than the Brexit vote back in 2016, when they killed all the bull accounts. Deal or no deal didn't even cross their mind, I bet.

With this kind of reasoning I can see why you still stand by your vote... you have absolutely no idea what you voted for & on that think it’s factored in.

This is why the question should never have been asked.

I'm happy to proven wrong and we will find out in less than a months time. That should be a short enough timescale for those who are impatient.

The reason why Honda's shipments are delayed is due to corporations stocking up in advance of 1st January. Up to 6 times normal volume is coming through container ports. This is an exceptional circumstance and is unlikely to persist.

Imo most of the move will be done next year as the market will still think..

Not going to be a sudden spike to the lows but it’ll defo drop a fair way on the announcement talks are off.
