Kind of like the talk I heard during communism(EU is slowly heading in that direction)..."We do it to protect you", "Its done for your safety". I don't want any company or government to decide anything over my life and my decisions. They are elected bureaucrats, they are our slaves, not the other way around! People seem to forget that!

That explains the gut feeling I get. This "Land of the Lucky" country is feeling more and more like a dictatorship at more than just one level. Obscure laws and nuances that make no sense at all except from a controlling factor (not talking about any coronavirus rules).

Why should we be regulated on a basis on how much money we have or can trade. Next you wont be allowed into a casino unless you are carrying 10k.

If people always say "Ah, I don't care about that, it doesn't have an effect on my life, anyway", then freedoms will be taken one after another. People in the west think that communism was about poor people not having a decent living, food or culture, while the opposite was the case. In communism, everyone had a good apartment or house(big ones), more than enough to eat, enough culture to attend to...from that point of view, it was just like the west, with ONE EXCEPTION...people had no freedom to choose! They couldn't travel without permissions, they couldn't question the authorities, they couldn't have a political opinion other than what the government media was saying(mainstream media nowaways pretty much). Those were really the only differences...the freedoms...and even if it may sound like not enough, people were willing to risk dying at the border to flee those systems. Because a nice house, car, TV and food didn't mean anything...if you couldn't think for yourself and do what you wanted to do. Communism will come back eventually...all signs are there. When a country like the US starts censoring news on social media(not chinese communist propaganda on the same social media, though)...you know something is very wrong with the world.

I can only refer to what I've read about communism but I think it's quite clear. To take the natural decision making out of persons hands is what makes the stomach knot in frustration of being trapped.

It's the chipping of liberties as you said. It feels like things are done that a small minority might shout out against being done but with not enough of a voice that it is pushed aside. A chip here and another there with the walls slowly closing in.

I'm not fully blind of facts and not a radical and understand laws are created for a purpose. I believe I have a sound decision making process but sometimes it feels like the guys at the top are just standing up there throwing monkey poop at us because most of the time they can get away with it.

IF YOU HAVE TO BUY OIL IN USD and sources of earning usd for the entire country is limited
