But then, government was responsible for the food. Now, it is up to the private sector. And they have no incentive to protect UK food security if this does not suit their business interests.

I don't know much about what New Zealand did. Anyway, at least for the next few years agriculture will need to be paid for, by us taxpayers.

It happened already, i.e. EU did not agree "equivalence" with UK financial sector. It can "unhappen", but in the case of no deal, won't.
