Us “Bears” have ALL been saying this can rise... but you are completely overlooking the biggest fundamental for the pound in many years based entirely on almost nothing but your bias.

largely I believe because you are more worried about being right (on here) than doing the right thing.

No one with large money will be buying the pound going into 2021

I have a lot of respect for your knowledge and chart reading skills, and your arguments make me more cautious. But I can't overlook fundamentals of Brexit, so my bias is still short.

It seems that the 2 big known fundie themes affecting the markets going into the end of year and extending into the new year are;

1. Brexit. firstly - deal or no deal and then secondly - the actual details of the deal and it's likely effects.

2. Covid and the ongoing economic effects

and, two fundie themes that could develop and affect the markets;

3. On the U.s side - likelihood of a potentially $2.2tr covid support/economic impetus deal (if the dems can get hold of the senate re georgia run-offs.)

4. Iran - will they fall into Tump's/Netanyahu's trap and respond, and if they do what will Trump's response be, and then theirs etc....

How all these will actually play out we don't know. Yes, we know the perceived wisdom of the most likely effects of each outcome related to each theme, but we don't know the timings and the cross relationships of 2 or more themes at play at once, which is why for all the confidence expressed here and other places, we should remain open minded...be bullish when the techs are bullish and be prepared to change when they are bearish - relative to the t/f's of interest to us. Don't hang your ego on one or the other. It's not about being right or wrong per say. It's about how much you make when you are right, and how much you lose when you are wrong, and about being right at the right time. Truisms aside, stay flexible and open minded, and, for the sake of one more platitude, trade what you see - not what you think - the market doesn't care what you think.

I think the argument was about the shadow of the previous day. I found a source that explicitly mentions that part.

But I think it has something to do with the broker's daily close. Not everyone has the same D1 candle.

-I had GLEANED the WEEKLY CHART, -(Below), but had thought the Daily had to play-out 1st,
With a little South, first but that proved wrong today, on my view and she went Gang Busters, NORTH.

On your pic, you can Note the 1st DRIVE NORTH, took a serious Retracement,
-(Like you mentioned), down to the 1.14 area. However, -LooK at the Second Touch,
and She Retraced only Slightly. -Known as the "Two Touch" Method, we are now set to
not only pierce this level, but burst it. -(I had only seen the daily a bit tired & appeared needing a retrace).
