go look at the last weekly gbpusd

weekly chart arrows left to right

1 no demand ... low volume up
2 . upthrust on increasing volume confirming the no demand
3/. smart money love to screw people .. so they did up move but note volume is normal trues breakouts should see increased volume
4. trap up move on INCREASED volume showing supply .

the entry would be either under bar 2 or 4

we do not have a topping pattern on weekly at all currently

...provisional new asc t/line on dly (dot dot) ...4hr already joining fractal swing lo's. Potential res to the upside on this t/f shown to 3482. dly below.

Someone incorrectly stated y/day late that y/day's dly candle is a hanging man - it is not - because it is not at the top of the move, and it's not a classic hanging man shape anyway - having an upper wick.

Regarding a downtrend... one probably cannot expect to see signs of it before it started. The PA will be bullish just until the moment it is time to drop. This is especially true for GU. Three recent downtrends (post-election, March and September) followed uptrends in full swing. Actually, I think they followed the days with ~200pips upswing (sometimes drop started the same day). I guess this time this honour was reserved for the EU trade deal, but I am not sure it's coming...

I think we all need to go back to some basics here.

Respect other traders opinions
Please post the timeframe your trade refers to as we all trade different styles and tfs

It funny reading about "we are in an uptrend" or "we are in a downtrend" when it comes to GU. With this pair, it can take 1 second to change from super bull to super bear and the opposite.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

but imo when trend reverse at early stage its almost no sign to indicated trend is about to change..

The PA certainly feels as if smart money are positioning themselves right now. We are consolidating for almost a week now. Volume does not seem to be high either recently, but maybe I am wrong, I trust your judgement here.

Markets are fractal, every timeframe builds a larger trend or swing from smaller trends and swings, unfortunately most do not understand this concept so the smart money will send you round and round in circles using the smaller swings while they build the larger.

This is why traders get the confused traders syndrome, its going up , its going down, up down, down, up , sideways, all the smart money is doing is building larger swings and trends with the uneducated money.

Thanks Malcolm, I don't use volumes in my analysis but as said my bias is long so I'm glad volume analysis support it.

Anyway I hope @Georginson will elaborate his view
