In the past 2 years cable has been trading btw 1.354 and 1.200 which is only about 1540pips, so anyone buying or selling at 1.27 is safe, market will always buy and sell so just have a good money management and you won't blow up your account. Market will always buy and sell so let's forget about the all news drama and enjoy the market both ways.

totally agree! Rees-Mogg and co have hedged the pound to drop to around 1.1X so a no deal is ideal for them.

longer term it’ll move back up against the dollar esp if Biden gets in.

as a heads up.

this small cap that’s targeting 24m oz of gold with high grade copper & rio tinto next door is an absolute bargain at a £7m mcap

comparative shares (All be it further ahead) have market caps of £900m / £1b

so I’m sure you can appreciate the potential 50/100 times upside:

TTAU / Tectonic gold ... trades on the U.K. aquis exchange... plans to list on the Lse next year (completely off the radar atm - once it is t it’ll 10/20 bag on hype alone)

It was a 20-30 pip gap down to start last week, then positive news just before the open and voila, almost 300 pips up in 3 days. So I wouldn't be too excited about the gap.

Hope springs eternal. Pelosi says she is "optimistic" and promises a deal very soon for a month now. I think she plays Republicans for fools, and markets are all too happy to be fooled as well. Politically, there is absolutely no incentive for her to strike a deal before the election as it would help Trump. And after the election, I am not sure Republicans will have any incentive for a deal.

Not that it indicates my stand on Cable or GBP, but I'm not sure the importance of pre-market quotes. Especially when different sites/brokers can give very different quotes. For instance, XE and CNBC are currently giving two different quotes for Cable at the moment and the difference is 10 pips.

In fact, I just started a thread to discuss about the importance of pre-market quotes; I don't want to put a link here to detract from the cable discussion at hand, but if anyone is willing to weigh in more on this topic, you can search my topics. I am keen to hear more about it.

XE doesn't show weekend quotes, they never did. They show somehow real numbers 2 hours before market opens. And CNBC? They just copy these things from different websites, they are meaningless.

IG shows real quotes, as they are the only ones who offer weekend trading on GU.
