It was the changing of the markets its normal for spread to be high at 10pm. They could stay high for a hour or so till volume comes back in.

Immediately after 5.00 pm NY time, the close of the NY session, is the worst time to enter a trade. Wait and you'll see gradually the spreads come back to normal after an hour or so.
