1. open the ZIP file "RodMap
2. insert Road Map folder into MT4 Profile
3. insert all 8 indicators into the MT4/MQL4/indicators
4. restart MT4
5. Road Map profile retrieval, done.
In the dashboard settings you may have to remove the suffix p from all currency pairs.

Hi Laura, Thanks for this thread, I have been following it for a while and without a doubt your introduction, explanation and ongoing guidance is the clearest and most intelligible I have come across on FF. I am a software developer by profession, but trade part time. I use cTrader rather than MT because it allows me to code indicators in a more object oriented way using a language I use in my daily work (C#). I have used your explanations and screen shots to create a similar set of indicators to those you use so now I have the complete set and...

Thanks for the kind words, Mike

That's great. I know many traders are big fans of cTrader so you might get more than a few requests to share your indicators

{quote} Does this chart bear any resemblance to Laura's method? If it does, then I can't see it. This chart would give me stretch marks on my brain.

Let's just say this is a small addition to Laura’s method, where it’s best to exit the trade. In general, the Targets ,this is one big topic that was discussed in another thread. And if you want to see the general picture of the price movement, you can mark it out on large timeframes

{quote} Well if you are opening the question to everyone! Some thoughts in case they help. Do you want to trade the E/U when both the Eur and Usd exchanges are closed? Do you want to trade short when on your t/f the PA looks to be going up? Do you want to trade reversals?

Thank you, I don't trade EU against the trend on Asian session, especially on a Sunday / Morning Open, it moves way too slow during those time. My question was more in relation to the setup than taking the trade itself. Probably the original post did not convey the meaning. During Asian my preference would be on AU, AJ, NU, EJ, UJ, GJ. I have not traded the Ax,Nx pairs before, so not sure about that, Yen can move a bit during the Asian session though.

Hi,
Thank you LauraT for sharing your trading method. Was lurking around since first post of this thread. Through weekend I run some manual backtest, using F12 button on few pairs. I am very glad that you also recommended to do so, I am huge fan of backtesting, because it gives : a)confidence based on numbers that your strategy works b)you learn the strategy, meaning that you will be doing a lot less mistakes during real trading c)you become consistent about what you are doing even before you start trading it live

Decided to share results with you all what I got on m5 timeframe testing GBP/USD and USD/JPY I needed to modify template to get higher timeframe SMA 200, and lower timeframe SMA 200. I added 600 SMA (mimicking m15 SMA 200, because 3 times higher) and 40 SMA (mimicking m1 200 SMA, because 5 times lower). However I run backtest without ADR indicator. NumbBars of CompRSISelectv2 I set to huge number of 70 000 to get it working since 2019 06. Was picking only your basic 2 major setups - cross and failure.

My all entries was from London open till London time close. I used ff calendar to exit before red news. Also I used my own subjective exit, like channel line overshoot, OBV divergence, or measured move of legs. It depended which I got first, however mostly my target was yesterday high/low as your teaching says. Also I used hard stop above/below 200 SMA. I measured profit in risk reward multiple. Meaning that 1 RR profit equals the same as my risk. 2 RR means, that I won 2 times as I risked, and 0.5 RR meaning that I got half of what my risk was.

So on these 2 pairs I got almost 200 entries since last June. Results are great! I got +66RR on GBP/USD, and +50RR on USD/JPY. You can put whatever risk you want on that RR multiple, meaning 1% per trade equals +66%, and 2% per trade means +132%... Taking into account compounding power and other instruments potential is really huge. I got few nasty choppy months, where results were slightly negative or zero. I attach all screenshots and template if someone wants to back test how I did. Have a nice day!

This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your process and your results

I'm happy you reached the conclusion that results are great!

If anyone wants to repeat this exercise for other instruments, I'd recommend it. As za1jcas says, the process allows you to both learn the strategy and have confidence in the results.

Looks like I came late to the party today. Can only see EURCAD as a potential set-up.

Seems like they were some really good set ups early on.

How is everyone doing?

Could you explain what do the m15 and m1 MA help you on m5?
Anything above the line is an uptrend, below the line is a downtrend.

Thanks for the thread, and your efforts in sharing and posting!

Went short EURNZD after channel cross, all SMA's were in the red and RSI. Price reversed. Closed order, for a loss.

Just so I understand, was this in theory a good setup? It just didn't work out this time?
