Weekly trend DID change last week. This week's candle can be bullish, but it won't be very big, even if...so the week after would take it down again. I think there is no way around 2880.

Thanks for noting my last week's post. First, I believe what I wrote, 'a significant break below ...the structural low around 1.31200 on a daily closing basis will likely lead to a southward turnaround.' That analysis was correct. Second, a significant breakdown of the zone did not occur. And no southward drive has taken place yet, so no action was taken by me. Of course, any scalper or intraday trader would be interested in the bearish shift, which is not yet sustainable imho.

Instructively, we should realize that any analysis is a guide and we should not take any action until our conditions are met. That is a reason I always sign off my analysis with 'Trade safe.'

Let me state that I hold a bearish bias on GBPUSD but no action yet. I still expect a northward pullback to an area of value. If there is no northward pullback on the GBPUSD to a feasible area, I will have to wait until after the holidays. I am a swing trader (largely, 80-85%) who tends to hold trades for a few days and even weeks, therefore I look for a highly feasible trade setup offering at least a 3R potential.

Here's my take on the GBPUSD.The bearish candlestick printed on the weekly time frame last week nestled a few pips to the significant 1.29400 horizontal support zone (green). On the H4 time frame, presently, price action is disposed southward. But a rising trendline (red) seen on the daily time frame and traceable to October 16, 2019 is acting as resistance to recent price action. Besides, given the relatively small candlesticks recently printed after an initial bearish strength, we may have a northward pullback before any further bearish drive. A likely area which a northward pullback may target is the 1.31000 immediate horizontal support turned resistance or, by extension, the 1.31000/1.32100 zone (bound by magenta horizontal lines). Basically, we cannot have confidence in a bearish drive yet.

I may be wrong. Trade safe and prosper.

as year end shakeout already over apparently , so likely typical pa during rest days at this end & open new book for next year !price likely test immediate support 2920/08 if not 2767 breaks as real fakeout confirmation & must hold weekly to starts with for 2614 plays next > all play with big bear engulfing weekly candle in hand now .once close then difficult join at this level & so will wait for short test at any high . take care , fontu
