no matter what your googly programs say, give me one good reason to have confidence in the pound short term? Many MPs were clear that the deal will slam the economy. So will a hard Brexit. Doesn't sound like many options. Don't forget when the banks unload, it won't be pretty

Its a toss up. I am in the camp of the gbp is way over cooked. The debate was nothing but reasons they are not even close to coming together. Better off waiting until after vote is finished. Or you can Roll the dice!

Brexit = Greece 2 = early buyers trapped with the big downtrend resuming lower than their expectations ...next year we'll have another "Brexit" "Grexit" or whatever ...

I hear that. It might even happen before the vote so they can suck in some more longs during the vote. Risk managers at banks gotta be saying get out. they couldn't possibly be sure this is resolved just yet.

4 outcomes possible today, but at any rate downside likely capped by 2700.
there's no parity, no 1.1000 and even no 1.2000. Hard Brexit risk is removed from the market.

  1. Parliament votes for the deal - decent gains for GU, but not huge, as positive news is already priced in 80-90%. Maybe we hit 3100-3150 today.
  2. Parliament votes against the deal - losses, but likely mild, at least initially GU might hit 2700 today then.
  3. 3rd option - another delay/extension/amendment/whatever (a dud for the market) nothing happens we stay flat until further notice.
  4. Option #4 - conditional approval of the deal. Also somewhat of a dud, probably nothing happens then (today).
