Here's a chart I worked on last night. It's a little busy but basically just a value stock (Grocery store here in the states) that might be worth a look. Cheap valuation, high dividend, trading down to what i view as potential support. Interesting contrarian play versus the "amazon is taking over the world" thesis.

I don't own yet, but may work on a trade in the new week and of course i could be flat wrong, so i'd either stop myself out or re-evaluate if it trades down to $19.50 or so.

Seems impossible to post charts anymore when you look at the headlines and it's "Futures plunge on latest Trump Trade war tweet" So these wil likely open lower tomorrow, but be that as it may, here's what I am liking from this past weekends scans (full disclosure, i'm already long HXL):

As anyone who's followed this thread knows, I buy breakouts and many times you might call these momentum trades. As a position goes my way i try to hang onto it as long as I can and I've posted my portfolio several times in the past, so you know pretty much know what I've been long.

This last week has been a rough one! Value stocks doing well and Momentum getting killed, all while the S&P Drifts higher towards a new all time high. For those interested, ZH has been covering it pretty well:
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/qu...hes-black-gold

I've never seen anything like it -- despite momentum stocks getting crushed, on one of my screens, SPY was #7 out of 300ish that I track as looking like it wants to break out higher. IWM (Small caps) have done even better but remained in the middle of their recent range. In any case, there's a good lesson here to be vigilant about moving those stops up as trades go your way... Some wild moves.

Anyway, here are a couple charts of interest. And the ones on 9/2 didn't actually perform that bad through this little mini-meltdown. Good luck trading all!

What does it say about the market that the company with the largest market cap is also breaking out to new all time highs (but the index is not...)

Disclosure, long -- been long since Jan (basically where that dotted red line and the thick red line intersect) but I don't know how much longer I'm going to be long. This is not a high growth company, but it is a cash cow.

A riddle, no doubt.

I have a UJ long that has been in sine May. I can't claim that it was a wonderful entry, but the carry is paying so I shall just wait.

So i've been working on trying to automate my strategy and it's not the easiest thing in the world, but felt like I made some really good progress this weekend. I've still been buying breakouts though and here are a few that caught my eye over the weekend. Sorry no charts, but you can look at the tickers yourself w/ your preferred charting package:

PRI, GPN, USB, BMI, WD, MAS, and MSCI

Trades from the past 2 weeks or so: Long PCAR, FLT, and HLT; Tried to buy TTC but never got filled.

Been hard at work trying to automate this process via some coding. So we're not quite there yet, but it's showing some promise in picking out set ups very similar to what I have on this thread. here's what this weeks' run spit out. Some interesting charts associated w/ these tickers as well, but of course you be the judge of that if/when you trade these.

Disclosure: I already own from this list HRL, DRE (mentioned previously on this thread), and NEM.

The business that this company is in, is purely a coincidental to what's currently going on in the world, but my favorite stock at the moment is this one:

If you've been following this thread Utilities and REITs have been big holdings. XLU is to the moon...VNQ (REITs) a little less so lately after hitting all time highs about 3wks ago. I'd be cautious on the REITs (and pretty much everything else except gold and gold mining stocks) going forward. This slow down in the economy will not be great for real estate. The only saving grace is their high dividends, but don't ever buy anything *just* for the dividend.

I haven't posted many charts here in a while b/c I haven't loved this market (was not positioned very aggressively for this massive move higher off the March lows). With respect to AU, it joins my other gold mining longs of FNV and NEM. Still well over 50% cash in the portfolio - looking for more shorts.

In any case, here are 4 stocks i'm long.
