Hi MT7! As I said its not a major issue, just wondered if you had come across it. I would send you some chart samples but unfortunately I've reset this morning to trade. I can't be sure it does it every time I open MT4 (latest version, build 1170) to trade, I noticed it this morning because there was a big discrepancy between the H1 chart and the offline chart.

If you could upload some screenshots of the problem (as you mentioned) that would be helpful for debugging the code.

Why do you ignore my questions above?

It would be better, if it also works on higher timeframes than M1 as higher brick sizes are not possible to see without big bar numbers and therefor big ram and cpu usage.

I think I answered your questions in this post.

In order to reconstruct the Renko bars as accurate as possible with limitations of MT4 platform, we have to use M1 history data. Any higher time frame would result in inferior reconstruction of true market price fluctuation.

Hi Matt,

I hope you had a good weekend. As is predictable I haven't been able to reproduce the error at switch on this morning. As I mentioned in my earlier post, it doesn't seem to happen every time, I only noticed it because it was a particularly noticeable discrepancy. I'm wondering whether it is the way my broker (IG) presents the data on some occasions - this is probably a very naive thought! Its not going to stop me using your EA - I've got a nice simple process going and I find that it works best (for me) with this Renko format.

If it becomes more frequent I'll let you know, many thanks for the great work you have put into this - you should charge for this EA!

No worries! Whenever you encounter such problem again, please take a screenshot and upload it here so that we will together figure out what the problem could be.

Regarding the EA, first of all, thanks for your nice words!
This EA is one of my contributions to the trading community. It is free, and all the new versions that I would share here will be always free of charge.

Good morning Matt,

I hope all is well with you. I have managed to recreate the problem I mentioned at switch on. The Renko EA settings are default apart from brick size, these a 20 point bricks.

Before resetting:

I didn't use to reset function in the EA, just highlighted the brick size and hit <OK>

I've compressed the Renko chart to get the whole chart in. Any thoughts?

can you provide a renko classic which the renko bar only appear above the current bar or down the current bar only not beside it renko bars are supposed to filter the market noise thank you

There are plenty of such Renko builders in form of EA, Indicator and Script out there. Just search FF!

Good morning Matt!

Just started up MT4 with EA set to "bid" only, all other settings remain as before:

Before reset:

Please note that it not just one pair affected, although it is not all pairs! I noticed the EURUSD pair was incorrect, whilst the DAX30 was OK. Very strange. As I mentioned in my previous post, its not a huge problem and doesn't happen all the time, although 2 consecutive days is unusual so I was wondering whether changing the settings has made it worse. Anyway it's a little teaser whatever it is! I was wondering if anyone else had mentioned anything similar? If its just me, then I guess its something to do with my computer/set up/broker. I do have another broker I use sometimes as a demo account, I will check that also although its a bit confusing because there is an hour difference with UK time.

This is a strange behavior of the EA! I tried to replicate the problem on my side but I couldn't get the same results as yours. Could you please write me all actions you take that result in such a problem step by step? This is a very important information that lets me follow exactly those steps on my side to be able to replicate the problem and debug the EA.

Hi Matt!

I appreciate your efforts trying to resolve this, I suspect it is just my set up!

I have two MT4 platforms running simultaneously both from the same broker; one running H1 charts only, the other is running your EA - this is my live account. Actually I haven't checked to see if it any different which order I start up the MT4's, would it make a difference? The H1 MT4 is a demo account I use to run dummy trades on from time to time during the day.

Last night I reset the EA to "bid" only before shutting down. This morning I loaded up the H1 MT4 first, followed by MT4 running the EA. Really I don't do anything else other than start to move around horizontal lines to identify current high/low of the day. That is usually when I start to notice the difference between the accounts.

The photos I have sent you are from my live trading account with the EA loaded. I add an H1 chart to show you the variance with the bars I can see on my H1 only demo account. The H1 charts on the demo and live account are identical. Then I reset the EA simply by highlighting the brick size number and <enter>. The offline chart then jumps to reflect the H1 chart patterns as per the "before" and "after" screen shots I have sent you.

I'm not sure I can add much more to how I start the day - just load up and adjust some horizontal lines. I'm not running any other indicators or EA's or scripts on my live account or my demo account.

I can understand from your perspective there is a technical "itch" that needs scratching - but please don't worry too much. It sounds like it is just me!

Sure, at some degree all renkos repaint, but where next bar starts (like median renko) does not change the values, it offers to see more of the chart like supports and not just big one directional trends. None of the suggested renko-builders make new values, it's just in more candles so that indicators can react faster.
What were your conclusions on your thoughts about creating the EA as an indicator?

I used Renko EA version 1.62 and found a bug.
When the market changes sharply and prices fluctuate very quickly, MT4 will pop up a reminder: Wait for the connection, and the price of the M3 chart created by EA will stop changing until I click on the confirmation button in the reminder box before returning to normal, which happens almost every day. How to solve this situation?
My settings are shown in the following figure.
