Good thread and idea you've started here fukinagashi. As i'm a proponent of what i've coined 4Dcharting (using lower time frame charts with higher time frame data in the mix) i like the idea proposed here, in particular looking at multiple closes outside TDTLs (which i've been using for many months since reading DeMark's great book). My thoughts on charting/TA include the idea that multiple hits on a lower time frame (or in our case closes) at a known suppor/resistance may have more validity than a single hit on a larger time frame. I know this thread is in the Mouteki niche forum and the bigM based the original on 4hr charts, though i find no problem looking at the 1hr if it helps bring in the pips. And in the end, this model is based on a known and proven style from a great trader Tom DeMark as written in his book "The New Science of Technical Analysis"... As a wise old man (King Solomon) once wrote; "There is nothing new under the sun"...we must keep in mind, that just about any system or model these days is just a rehash and hack of someone else's work, as is the Mouteki Trading Model (just as mine is or any i've seen here at FF) is. Just ramblin'.

As a side note, i have forwarded the indicator's post link to a fellow trader and MT4 coder as he fixed a similar bug in an indicator he and i were working on. Hopefully if he has the time the "erasing" bug will be fixed and we can keep the indicator on the chart with our other TA.

Post Script: My friend here at FF was able to fix the bug, now the indicator can be used with any number of other MT4 tools on the same chart and they are all compatible. Yippie. I would mention his name but then he might be deluged with bug fixes. Suffice it to say he is a great help and his behind the scene assistance is greatly appreciated! I've given the link to the indicator directory at the Mouteki Resource page just in case there are other mods we want in the future, this link will still be good:

Mouteki Indicators

Cheers,
Thom

Hello,

I did not abandon this thread, but I was very busy working / traveling the last week.

I did some interesting manual backtesting on GBPUSD, where I compared H4 and H1 for about a year. Very interesting results. I as well experimented a bit with the TD Qualifiers, with interesting results.

Unfortunatly this weekend will be busy as well, but I hope to find 1-2 hours to structure the results and write a nice post. So please stay tuned .

Hi everyone. This is my first post here. Let me begin by giving thanks to all those who have posted their great ideas here. Thanks! And fukinagashi, thanks for your cool idea.

I've been reading up on the Mouteki/DeMarker trendline breakthrough concepts, and it has a great potential, especially when you combine it with your favorite overbought/-sold indicator(s) and related strategies.

It's also a great idea to go down one or more time frames.

I've attached an indicator file that indicates the fractals of 1day/4h/1h/15/m on any time frame. It is great for easy backtesting the Mouteki/DeMarker TL break on lower timeframes.

It would be great to make an improvement on this indicator, which would make it possible to analyse the idea suggested in this topic by fukinagashi, on any time frame (including the 1 day, 30m, 5m, etc...), while it would also allow for many other interesting analysis.

The idea is to have a version of the indicator where you could freely configure which fractals you want to see. For example you could want to have the indicator show the following fractals: highest/lowest max/min in every 5, 10, 15, 20 candles, or for instance those in every 5, 8, 13, 21 candles/bars (= fibonacci series). 5 is the standard fractal, as used in the MT default indicator.

Is there someone here that has the skills to program this from the attached indicator. I've tried, but haven't been able to find how to adapt it in the appropriate way (what a pain to find the appropriate documentation! ghrrr...)?

It would be even better if it will be possible to freely configure the number of candles in the "input" menu.

Many thanks if someone can do it. It will be a great tool in many ways.

Hello,

Spartan,

Yes, I finally got it. Thank you very much for taking the time to clarify it for me and Vince-AC and the rest of members who were following our questions. And thank you Spartan for the charts. My next post will be to ask if there is a broker in the U.S with a demo account using MT4 with an eastern standard time. But I will create a new post and not interrupt the flow of this thread.

Thanks again

I have been using IBFX to demo since the signal occurs earlier, it all deals with when the candle starts with the broker. There have been discussions in this thread and other Mouteki threads on this subject. I have read that some use IBFX, but then do actual trades with their broker...

I'm sorry spartan, I was wrong, and you're right. To each their own. Nothing wrong with trying new things and expressing different ideas. Good luck in your endeavours.

best,

The idea of using 1H chart to better time entries is logically sound but after analyzing it a bit on past data, I had to realize the Mouteki method by default would not always give you good entries at the best timing thus making it less meaningful to use 1H chart to obtain more accurate analysis.

I hope to hear from Fuki about his new findings soon.

I know, quite a subject. DISCLAIMER: The following suggestion is not according to Mouteki. You will follow a "sect" within this thread. It might be worth to have a look at it, but be warned. Ok, here is the idea. We all are quite annoyed that we have problems finding the same entries with other disciples due to different timezones aka different candle-setups. I am on top of that personally quite often annoyed, that I sometimes see the breakout taking part, while I still have to wait 1-2 hours till the end of the actual candle. How to avoid...
