Welcome Kette. Just to clarify: the Market Profile directional bias is determined by:

  1. comparing today's developing value area to the previous days;
  2. Assessing the shape of the developing profile;
  3. Assessing the shape of the past day's profile to determine the stage of the internal clock of the Market (Steidlmayer's phrase not mine: see Trading with Market Profile by Steidlmayer) ;
  4. Using the 80% above or below value area rule, that is, if price is above the value area but then renters the value area: there is an 80% probability that price will travel to test the value area low with the POC being an intermediate barrier - See Markets In Profile by Dalton;
  5. The expectation that unfilled single time-framing TPOs from previous days will eventually be filled.
  6. Other stuff I can't immediately recall.

Looking ahead, highlights include Eurozone mfg PMIs, Canadian CPI, ECB’s de Guindos. US markets early close.

In FX markets, the major pairs traded sideways with price volatility virtually non-existent due to the holiday closures and lack of data releases. As such, the USD index was subdued below the 96.50 level as EUR/USD prodded above 1.1400.

Option expiries of note for today's 15:00 GMT:
EUR/USD: 1.1325 (0.512 BLN), 1.1360 (0.904 BLN) and 1.1400 (0.694 BLN).

Still holding a short position @ 1.1459 with a target @ 1.1236 and a stop shy above November high @ 1.1507 and is still looking good going into the weekend.

We've got a short wave b at 1.1384...it could be that the wave iii is a little exetende towards. 1.1319

So expect the wave iii around 1.1325-1.1319

That will imply that the end of the wave also could end a little lower somewher around 1.1268 - 58

Wave ii was 6977% => alternation rule learns us we must go up towards 9.80% at least (% wave ii + % wave iii = between 80% a 100-120%)
