So in conclusion, it appears that trends DO exist. The only problems are they can only be seen in hindsight, and they are statistical in occurrence. That is, they occur in a statistical Poisson distribution. Neither technical analysis nor fundamental analysis is of much help in identifying them before they occur. Trying to predict the future more than a few minutes ahead is futile. If that is the conclusion, the best we can do is look back and see what may be trending, and then use the best methods we can find to try to enter those trends and profit from them. Some will end just as we try to enter them, and some were just a statistical anomaly. Our methods must allow for those. - G
