Pre report on nfp just came out on bloomberg and gave gbpusd 45 pip spike

Since there is a modest strong dollar sentiment, the least desireable NFP number would just slightly lower like low 20's or in the teens.

can you provide a link to that?

Audio? Do you mean that we peoples in the room is waiting for the mod to come in and gives his numbers? He normally waits til about 1 or 2 min before the news announcment then he comes on.


Other than that, all i hear is 'member join' or 'member left.'

Hehe, took a hit today. Lost 53 pips, did a MO, revisions is what killed me. Not bad, i did 2 mini lots on this one, nothing big, sorry for those people who lost on this one. NewsStrike didnt read off revisions. Looking for retrace.

so where's the dollar going to head now? looks very mixed signals to me.

well that was an odd reaction! the past few weeks, the dollar has been responding positively to bearish news. tells me we may have a dollar rally on our hands over these next few months.

Didn't straddle; just a MO based on the headline figure... revisions weren't mentioned until after the fact.

WTF!!!!

50K and we got a whipsaw? HOW IN HELL DID THAT HAPPEN? I knew I shuld have modified my straddle script to take advantage of "whipsaw"! I was so engrossed with Mouteki, I did not find time to rewrite it.

Broker NF: I managed to bag -10 and +15. had to fight hard to close Long but ended with the price touching my SL for a 10 pip loss. I tried to SHORT market order but failed again and price touched my short entry. I tried to close it again and fortunately, the server finally accepted with a +15 win on that one.

Broker IBFX: I was lucky to place a 15 pip SL for extra safety against widen ed spread. It finally hit my 30 pip TP... Darn I deleted my short so no short trade for this one.

For those two traded EURUSD, there was clean symmetrical swing on both sides for a nice entry and exit (if you only hoped for a 30 pip TP and 10 pip distance)...

At anyrate, nice trades. Ended with win win on two brokers.

Well I made a few pips today... not much.... one for 5 pips and the other BE... I'm working on a position down now...

This is the only news I trade... I'm curious if anyone out there has any ideas as to why we are seeing $ bullish, yet the numbers were probably the worst I've seen in a year.

My trading platform insists on being in the market for 2 minutes. My order was picked up when the price went up. tears of joy turned too tears of anguish as I couldn't get out....2 minutes is a long time dropping down a mineshaft!

I had to watch bloomberg online to get the revisions.

Lesson learned, revisions for non-farms is essential!
