Hi Traders,

I am enjoying reading this Thread.
I am currently at page 22, LOL.
It will take a long time for getting up to date, so I will probably find the answer to my question several times in between.

BTW I noticed that " No Test - No Trade " could be sometime painful too...

I like very much the teaching way of the Thread Starter

Welcome also. Hope you settle in well.

As for that ''no test, no trade'' set-up, you'll discover that the term ''test'' takes on a fluid meaning around here .

Trying to filter out as much discreption as possible from this fluidity, as the rest of the strategy has none at all in my view.

The thing with a trade set-up like that, where you get such a hefty push in one long candle, it's almost inevitable that it's going to retrace, at least to some degree. Just hit the sell as soon as you can.

However, I do know that this risks a freight train.

If the close had been right at the very top, then I would have a little more hesitation, perhaps, however, generally speaking, I will go in as close to that level as I can get.

If you are managing the trade on a lower tf then you will often get a drop, then return (albeit often briefly) to the entry level. That can be a good compromise.

When you are learning, pick the easy fruit. Then, one day, things will become apparent. AHA!

One thing to look for in "same bar" entries, is that (as you notice here) price will more often than not retrace back to around the 50% of the entry bar, then turn and continue on in the direction of the original trade.

I am sure you can figure out on your own how you can make use of that information.

Also, just because you have bagged on your Hal-Special Same-Bar entry, doesn't mean you have to ignore and not take the "Standard" entry.

All sorts of ways for the clever trader to maximise his / her pip bag.
