That's because you're using the base HOLO indicator, not set up for 1-2-3.

Edit the indi to keep the only two lines you need and use bars.

In the days when I didn't do this, I would set a stop at a maximum size of, say, 17 pips, if I remember right.

thank you. i have read something longer ago from a guy called "dancingphil" here on ff about counter trades but i really dont understand this concept.
trading is like dancing, don't think and just listen to the music!

The late, very great, dancinphil.

Counter trades hold a bad trade in limbo so that you have a ''floating loss''. In effect a hedge (or nedge as some call it, as it is on the same pair). You can then look to unwind that as time moves on, while still re-entering if your original trade goes back your way. You can also trade the break of the high, or low (what would be your stop) as another entry trigger.

It's not really the place to be getting into this, as I don't want to clutter up TooSlow's thread and it's not a tech that's really for the less experienced, plus those traders in the US can't hedge on the same broker anyway and that brings up having to open two different brokers etc.

Simpler to use a limited stop loss and to re-enter.

very interesting comment. this is something to think more over and agree that not here discuss it intense.
but i learned something new, thx.

also that the stop loss can act as a new trigger line is a nice concept.

small question.....do you have price alerts set or you have to look at all the charts every top of the hour...or is there a specific time range when most setups occur

I think it's every trader has his or her own way.

For me, I don't have alerts. I have a number of likely candidates and quickly scan to see if they look good or not. Once you start to trim back your pairs to your faves, then that is even easier.
