I don't pay 2 pips spread - but yes, it's always something to take into account. That's why I keep NU for higher-probability set-ups.

Short the CA, a much larger stop then I like, however when I see a strong move up and likewise back down that has usually been good and I will run the bigger risk.

Entered a small short on the S&P, will move to break-even quickly if it moves down.

Edit: Trade not doing much, got extremely close to my SL but for once just missed it. Guess I should just close it, but good R:R now if the support level breaks could go to 2765, so will keep it.

Edit: After breaking of support level, set my stop ta close trail, and only got around 2 points profit in the end. This couldv'e been very nice with a slightly larger stop :-)

Lot1 : +5 pips (didn't take 4 hours :-) )
Lot2 : -1 pip (moved back to open quite quickly)

Entered short on AU. Move my entry up to open of previous bar, so guess it's a 1-2-3 HOLO combo

I agree that that looks like a good entry but I have to say that if you look left, you will see that you have broken a level, with price now sitting on what was an area of resistance. This could now become a support zone. I personally would be ready to bail quickly on any sign of it going wrong. (I may, of course be completely wrong - and it could drop like a stone - and you should do your own analysis on this before making a decision).

I did have the AU on this particular bar. short with my +5 locked. However I also had it several hours back on my patented same bar trade as it came back down. It showed be a couple of pips then showed me -13. As I have stated before my same bar trades often work, sometimes don't. Just looking at that strong string of new highs it was probably not a great idea going against this train, and that proved correct. In this set up it was the classic 123 set up and I was a bit hesitant going back at this buzz saw but I got back some of that loss.
