DislikedHi all, Very interesting post. Question, when is the best time to be trading this? London? US session? I am from Singapore so im awake London and half of US session. My concern being, since this strategy is very High Low dependent, obviously, we cant possibly start trading this right from the start of the daily candle at 1700 NY time? We need to let the range establish itself first so my question is usually by when would it be a good time to start lookign at the chart. And what happens if its a really strong trending day for the pair and constant...Ignored
I see no one has answered you on this yet, so I will throw in my t'uppence for you.
There have been a handful of 1-2-3 / HOLO traders from Singapore, though coincidentally both only trade for half the year. Acting on advice given, they switched to using a UK-based broker to run their charts on, adding the indicators / template there, while placing their trades on their preferred (local) broker. For one thing, this ties their trade set-ups into those (mostly) shown here.
The only issue they would report would be the obvious one of having to deal with higher spreads while the UK and US markets were out-of-session. Other than that, it's a case of trading the pairs that have their markets open and getting some mileage under your belt. Get a feel for which pairs suit you best and perform consistently. Look at TooSlow's posts for instance. He runs a very tight ship and doesn't spread himself over a lot of different pairs and most of us here have our favourites that we know inside out and upside down.
As for a pair constantly running new extremes, one after the other. Well, congratulations, you have just been run over by one of our (in)famous freight trains. It happens. As you gain experience (in FX in general, not just in 1-2-3), you will develop a nose for trouble. You may get bitten but will avoid being eaten
One way to do this is to look up higher. Jump to the H4 and have a look at what's happening there. Are you in a strong, two candle, long-move? Well, why would you expect a short to kick in on an H1 1-2-3 any time soon?
LOOK LEFT. Is price hitting a significant level? A BRN? On that note, I use Supply + Demand Zones. This is not in any set of 1-2-3 rules, this is my preferred way of trading. However, it works for me. Find something that works for you. Make the method your own.
Rep it, rep it and then rep it some more. You'll get there.
Post up your charts so we can see how well you're doing!
Good luck and welcome aboard.
