Well I picked up a runner on The 100 through the day - however, I have to confess that I did not use the shown entry (in here for illustration only as to where I should have gone in). I had missed that entry but when I saw there was no entry on the way back down, I took the entry on the next bar, as price dropped to bounce near the Demand Zone.

The F40 was similar and I entered on a non-true 1-2-3 entry which I have used before - a kind of ''late'' 1-2-3. This pattern is a very repeatable one across all time-frames but as I said, is not a true 1-2-3. There was a perfect entry opportunity on the way back down but I wasn't able to get to the charts at that time...

On The DAX, price did move farther up as I was expecting but it kept on moving and I got too busy elsewhere to wait around until the move that did come later.

Now, as I said, this kind of thing is not as per true 1-2-3 but an additional variation-on-a-theme by myself. I am not suggesting you should be doing this and this post should be looked at as a kind of ''for informational purposes only'' post.

Thanks Lem for the heads up on pets, it definitely is an issue here. Survived the wicked Irma, was way far from the land fall but still had 90 mph and much chaos for over 12 hrs. Was very fortunate not to lose power unlike 6 million that did and many will be without for weeks to come. Very wide spread devastation, but so far few reports of casualties.

Nicely done as always, Hal. You can definitely see a preferred pattern emerging in your trades of a sustained directional move through one day, followed by a period of contraction, where you get the new high / low off of the back of that as the market figures out what it's going to do next. It's actually classic HOLO territory as well, so makes sense.

Yes, doing the same thing day after day you do indeed get a sense of the patterns and flows of the action, very consistent.

Heya guys, great thread, been reading through and catching up on it.

I have a question about the following rule

2) Did this bar test the high or low of the last bar?

How close does a "test" need to be? I see a lot of pics that dont make it back up to the high/low, but trades are still taken. Its hard to gauge the distance from pictures.

If price heads up/down past the open of the previous candle in the direction of the high/low, but does not make it to the high/low point, then comes back across the previous candle open towards the daily open line, does that qualify?

Took this quick-hitter out of a HOLO set-up. Excuse the indicator - had no time to faff around changing the screen to 1-2-3 as I don't normally look at the Dollar Index as one of my Weird Bunch. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Each trader handles this probably a little different. IMO there is no set formula or rule as how far price needs to go toward the hi or lo and then fail and reverse back through the open of current bar to trigger trade. Initially in using this method I always wanted to see significant movement toward that hi or lo. But I ended up missing many many trades.

Also there is no guarantee that just because it moves significantly it will eliminate a loss. For me a fraction of a pip qualifies as movement. And I do even take trades that make no movement. It's called bending the rules, not ignoring them. You have to experiment yourself and see what works for you.

I did not understand the last part of your question.
