To me it seems like the indicator is working exactly as intended for these short time frames. I don't recall seeing that post but I don't see how there could be an error with the signals. For my strategy the indicator gives signals exactly the way I would trade news breakouts.

Understand...I believe you probably traded the news before FPB thread was started. If I come across the coding error discussion, I will bring it to your attention.

I compared the suggestions given by the indie ccfp-diff and with FxM's indie (which was corrected for the issue with the coding (usage of + instead of *)) and both gives the same list of pairs to trade. So I think there should not be a problem there.

I think that's the best thing about this strategy, it allows people to trade live with low risk and potentially grow their account with proper money management and compounding.

Embry1 thanks again for this approach to using the CCFp indicator, I've been having pretty decent success so far, and also trading it live.

I want to ask you if there is any other deciding criteria that you stick to before trading a news release? I know that best high probability are when used for red news, but not all red news has the same effect on price movement as I've seen, so how would you decide between what to trade and what not to trade?

I remember you saying that no news trading after 13:00GMT? Is there anything else? Thanks.

The coding error has got to do only with the MA calculation, so if you are using a TT or FT setting which is not looking at the MA, the trade suggestions won't be affected, so trading for the news with the 60 TT settings is fine and trade suggestions are accurate.

In my case, I'm awake at 6am central which is 11:00 GMT so I always watch price movement on any news after that time and that's pretty much the criteria. I treat it as just an easier way to manually trade news. I still trade live before that of course, but those are typically very safe anyway to set the basket for 1 min after release. And the 13:00 GMT is the cutoff for safe trading with the timer, watch the price action after that. For example, I was prepared for the AUD news last night and I didn't like the outcome so I never opened the basket. Today with the USD news at 14:30 showed good price movement and many people profited from that. If you want this strategy to work without having to watch it, I recommend filtered baskets for high impact before 11:00 GMT only.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I think even with only trading high impact red news in the mornings can be very profitable. Set a 100 pips TP and with the amount of news we have throughout the month it can be a nice additional extra income.

Most of the time the suggested pairs are different.

Well here's a good example of "extra money" based on 200 pips a week with a 100 pip SL per basket.

Of course this is based on netting 200 pips per week or more, essentially 10% account risk per basket. But if we are able to get this consistent enough to where 10% risk per basket is acceptable then this is feasible.

@ Embry, With tomorrow having a number of High Impact News releases for both CAD and USD at the same time, would you consider opening 1 CAD Filtered basket, 1 USD Filtered Basket, 1 CAD+USD Filtered basket, 1 Unfiltered basket.........all at the same time? Normally I wouldn't consider all of these at the same time but the HIN that is scheduled to be released are typically big movers and they involve USD. Your thoughts?

EDIT: Also my thoughts on the "best" High Impact News events.....instead of raising your TP in pips maybe you can use those event for compounding and raise your lot size instead.

If you are using TT, the CCFp indicator will use bar instead of MA. I've seen ss of your news baskets that you are actually using TF (quote below), which would make more sense for the MA settings. Also what you mean buy filter/unfiltered baskets. Is it just based on the manual pair selection related to the actual news? Cheers mate.

Yeah the MA setting is irrelevant for TT. I just used to post how mine was set up but you can have any figure on the MA setting. I now just post 60 TT and whichever news pairs I'm trading. Filtered means trading only the relevant pairs to the news. Example would be to trade only GBP pairs during GBP news.

The EA is programed according to the various request of the users of this thread. When the EA is ever reloaded.. or for that matter loaded for the first time. The globals are processes as follows.

1. On any load(fresh or refresh). Every global is checked for existence. If the global exists then its value is assigned to a corresponding variable.
2. If a global does not exist then there are two possible results
A. The corresponding variable is left alone(It already has an initialized state)
B. or a functiion is used to assign a value to the corresponding variable (ie. Suffixes are collected, gmt offsets etc..)

3. based on overall user request and obvious reasons certain globals are not removed. This depends on the state of the account. If the account has any open baskets globals such as pipcount,Triggerhour etc are not deleted. In addition Users have asked that when all baskets are closed that the values displayed on chart remain intact. Then Of course there are certain globals that do not require to be removed once thet are calculated gmt offsets, suffix array, etc.

That's it in a nutshell for the load, re-load operation.
Be patient you will soon have the code so you can manipulateit as you desire.

You know many of you have suggested that the source be not released since we will have scammers appear and configure it to their purpose to scam a buc. I am not that concerned about that, cause as you have seen if the most important aspect of how to use this tool is not explained the tool simply wont work. Now i know scammers wont care cause once they get their $ they are gone. So after some thinking... i had alot of time on a 8 flight lol. I came up with a scheme. Lol i promise the source will be available but there will be a price (not money) that the user of the code will undergo. A smart coder will do ok and eventually figure something out... but oh how i pitty those scammers.
