Here's some notes I've taken from Davit's Pivot thread. Maybe they'll be of use to someone.

I am currently in EU short, UC long. I am feeling a bit overexposed to the USD but sometimes, that's trading. I realize my EU entry is early for pivot trading purposes, selling at R38. It is in a nice channel though, a better entry would have been at or around 1.100

{quote} I may not be panicking, but I'm definitely not taking advantage of my margin. Currently using only 1/4. I am not sure about Overtrading when I feel confident in a certain trade, because I have felt the market very manipulated. My 4 positions should revert to green pips soon. {image}

Had more spare time this month and used it for trading. Taking the rest free.
Have a good week and nice weekend!

From an early exit to the next.

However since we need to have a criterion, as a rule of thumb I consider the target reached when ADR is passed and this was the case.

Yes, now I can say for sure that it has been a super early exit, a three black crows pattern appeared on the chart.
It's a common story, as soon as you close the trade goes your way like a rocket, however when you don't, it goes against you.

Maybe you should consider price rather than an indicator as a TP. You seem to focus on early exits and money that was never yours. Truth is we exit when we exit, at the price we exit is when we decided we would do so, anything after that is hindsight and a problem for our mind and trading psychology.

I am certain that if you start accepting your exits and stop focusing on what it was in hindsight your exits will improve. At least they will look better in your minds eye. Just an observation.

Bounced beautifully off both sides of ADR indi, U/C overall trend is South but I felt it was overextended beyond S100 so expected a small bounce.

A Rough Tuesday and good recovery Wednesday...
Summary

  1. added sshorts on Monday and not much happened - left them on into Tuesday - I did have a couple of longs as cover but heavier shorts
  2. Tuesday got ramped into the stratosphere and tried to recover with a few more shorts - well that turned out bad - 140% ADR etc on some pairs. hammered.
  3. Today - I had a couple of more positions closed out overnight and this morning got a lot more focused and was not convinced that the GBP / EUR/ AUD / NZD Ramp and USDCAD Dump was as valid so hammered in a few on the morning spike and Happy Days recovered losses and 35 bucks.. anyway not a great couple of days however with only a small account and swing of 900 USD in about 2 hrs that is a bit nail bitting - glad it did not go another 900 USD against me.... I was watching USD with laser focus to recover Tuesdays losses today.

You need to work on watching Pivot zone and until PA gets exhausted to eliminate early entries.Work on that please

Heads up lots of tension with Trump and China
Which puts AUD at risk. I am bear bias on it.May open with gap down next week.Should crap happen over the weekend.

In fact reloaded shorts now at 6595 portion of lots intended but not all.
GU may drop below 22 better wait for better number to long.

One way to max profits is reloading. So just because you exited does not mean move is over.
You can do this multiple times until move is exhausted

Mundo does it and I do it often

Hi Davit - Thanks and I agree I need to work on the entries around Pivot Zones and Exhaustion - Also going to look more into the momentum trading once I get some more time. I am glad that I recovered well and stuck to my guns that AU / NZ needed to fall and GBP remains weak in general - CAD strength was a little surprised however with oil at 34 USD that may account for that

Hi Mundo,

thanks for your suggestion.

I mainly rely upon PA to entry/exit the market, no indicator whatsoever the only exception being ADR H/L for it tells how much price has travelled.

Apart from that, all the rest as you say, it's a psychological issue.

Best regards and Green Pips,
Bubincka
