Finally I'm catching on a little.......... the hour and a quarterj wait was quite unbearable....I am issueing a complaint to Ecoffin Meeting chairman to speed things up next time. Instead I made a batch of scones, got the dinner ready, mowed the lawns and painted the roof to keep myself together....I lied a bit there.
I did wait for M15 to line up. I did go back to M5 and want to close it out about 3 times. Instead I have a perfect trade, hitting my target just below R1. I'm sure it looks obvious now but to enter against the strength of the dollar was tough. There are many reasons can go through your mind but Genesis is the Boss!
You don't need another indicator. You need to be satisfied with genesis and learn to trade it. The simplicity of genesis is perfect for me.

Speaking of dollar strength....we can see on the USD Index chart (weekly) that after the double (or triple) top, the usdx hasn't been able to move from there. Whether it will move on, or whether it will back off is something we will see in due course........

I honestly do believe that trading a single currency pair will teach you a lot. It's like learning language. You might need to speak 4 different languages, but you have to learn them one at a time.....only adding a new language when you have one already well and truly understood. If you try and learn all 4 at the same time, you'll never make it happen!! On any of the popular pairs, there will be a 30 - 60 pip move every day....or almost every day. That's all you need!!!

Hmmmm ... wise words me thinks, and I think I might be doing this as well ... trying to run before I can walk is not doing me any favours, and because often you get alerts all at once it's actually really easy to miss the good trades ... ironic because part of your brain is going "the more pairs, the more opportunities", but I think it's actually "the more pairs, the more missed opportunities".

Back to basics! I know people like Marty are doing it with one or two pairs, time to give that a try.
1 pip at a time ... if the entries are strong, the rest will follow ...

Yeah....someone else on this thread trades only a single pair and does very, very well at it. When you get to know a particular pair, you get to understand how it moves, and eventually you'll understand how it reacts to certain circumstances like news etc. You'll be watching it creeping along and you know that it's going to breakout.....it hasn't happened yet....Genesis is looking good blah, blah, blah.....and then it breaks out just as you expected. That sort of familiarity is invaluable and eventually it makes your trading life much easier.

Trading, or rather, watching many pairs is a double edged sword. You get to see more opportunities, but how many of them do you stop at and analyse to see whether it really is a good opportunity?.......eventually you decide, 'nah...better not' (because you don't know that pair too well), only to come back to see your favourite pair, and bloody hell....you missed a perfect opportunity!!!

It happens.....it happens to me too.....and that's yet another benefit of doing this M15 test. Because I'm trying to give the test the best chance of decent amount of trades, I'm limiting the pairs I watch to just 3.....and the pips are coming easier than ever.....although that could be the TF, hard to be certain.

If you want (say) 50 pips/day as your target, then there's no point in watching 10 pairs. Any of the majors will give you an opportunity to grab 50 on average. Some days less, some days considerably more.

So it's a 'swings and roundabouts' thing, but getting to know a single pair intimately can only be a good thing....imo!

My trade of the day, EU short for + 60, taken after the DP finally gave up. Initial target was S2, but decided not to be greedy and exited at ATR h1
