... I remind myself this everyday "keep reading and learning, don't give up, believe in yourself, believe in the genesis system, and believe in the people here" and it will pay off sooner or later, trust me. (I, myself thinking of quitting forex at one point but lucky I didnt) So to all the people that are almost there please dont give up and keep going....

Very well said, doitamg

It's so easy to lose faith when in your baby steps phase of trading, seeing all the seasoned traders bagging hundreds of pips daily. But they were there too, struggling at the very beginning. Where they are now, fulfilled and consistently profitable, is the strongest motivation not to give up, at least for me.

I cannot but completely agree with you, I've been just about to quit after months and months of losing trades, or being permanently at BE, I finally realized that my main issue has been the pressure of having to bee profitable soon, since my family just got bigger... instead of that took a few days off, several good breathes, back to babypips school, reinstalled MT4 only with genesis indicators, moved to M15/H1 hoping to be able to follow the trades better and less frequently, crossed my fingers and started from scratch with my $200 demo account...

{quote} Exactly. I have mentioned three arrows (reffering always to my template): "A second comment has to do with ranging markets. I was hitting my head to the wall trying to find ways to avoid ranging periods of the market. Here the three arrows help alot. When ranging it is very common to see these arrows pointing at different directions saying to you "stay out" " What has stochastics to do with that?

Some crossed wires somewhere!! I read it as you wrote it and I am will certainly be watching this in future choppiness. .

FWIW, as you would have seen on my charts, I use the ASCTrend-4TF, and I will enter a trade if everything else looks good but even the M5 hasn't changed to the right colour yet, but mostly when I enter, I have either the M5 or the M5 and the M15 ASCTrend in agreement. If I have the M30 and the H1 as well......well...it's likely to be a nice trade because I'm certainly going with a decent trend!

As has been said, we all start in the same place, and we all go through the same issues. As the saying goes, '95% quit fx'......well I don't know if that's true or not, but I know that I very nearly quit once too. I wrote a short story of what happened here...have a read

I did read it, a month ago, printed in big letters, framed it and is hanging on my mental trading room (that I'll have in real life sooner or later), many many thanks for that.

Hope it helps.....when we start, it seems easy. After all, the price doesn't have too many options where it's going to go!! But the more we learn, the more we realise how difficult this is and one of things that I know caused many issues for me, was listening (aka reading), other people's opinions of where the PA is going to go, and why. This place is full of 'experts' who will convince you that they are right and that the price *will* go to 'x.xxxx' and will then reverse......and that includes all the paid 'experts' and 'analysts' etc etc etc........look.....*none of them*......not even one of them, knows where the price is going next. They are guessing.....yes....some are informed guesses, but they are still guessing at it. No one knows for certain.

So you see why I absolutely insist that none of this guessing goes on here......and my advice is don't read any of that other crap by brokers analysts, or other 'experts' at FF, or anywhere else. The system is pretty good at getting us into trades....we have to manage our trades and exit when we think best. That's all!!

No need to make this more difficult than it is by adding all those worthless expert opinions to the equation to confuse you and to put doubt in your mind.

{quote} So starting next week, I'll run a 4 week test on M15 only, and post the results at the end of the period. Of course I can't trade M5 at the same time, so there will be no comparison, but that's not really important. What is important is the overall win/loss and the pip count. So from next week, I'll collect 4 weeks worth of data and we shall see how we go........

{quote} I have mentioned that I trade only indices (yesterday dow went more than 300 pips straight down, extremely hard to trade it ), but out of respect to this thread I will attach a UJ chart (nothing to do with me) just to make my comments clear. If you ask me what do you trade M5 or M15? I will reply M5. But someone could call it M15. Let us see why: Looking at my tempate you see: 1. M5 matrix 2. Three arrows (M5, M15, M30). As I said before it is not (for me) critical to wait for all of them to close. Even if they are alligned for at...

Very nice trade. I was going to take it as well because it was a perfect setup.....what stopped me was that I already have reached my target today, and I saw the 3200 round number......but as the trade progressed I wished I had taken it!!!

So well done....an excellent trade

Congratulations on your fatherhood, jurtzi

I totally understand what you mean by saying 'the pressure of having to be profitable soon'. It is such a blind alley! I've been guilty of playing with high leverage before, just to get badly burnt. Oh well, as RJ says, sometimes we won't learn until we make a mistake ourselves. No matter how much you read, theory can't compete with experience and the pain of loss. I believe trading is about developing the right habits, and that certainly requires working on oneself. And it won't happen overnight...

Good luck with multiplying your account!
