IBFX MT4 Tools- Undock MT4 Charts

Hi all,

I've just discovered this great script by IBFX that undocks MT4 charts, so that they can be dragged onto separate monitors! This is really useful for traders who use multiple monitor setups and have previously had to run multiple instances of MT4, now you can do it with one!

You just need to put the IBFX - Undock chart.ex4 script in your MT4/experts/scripts folder, and the MT4iConnect.dll in your experts/libraries folder. Then restart MT4 and run the script on your chart!

will this only work if you use IBFX as your broker?

EDIT: Just tried it on Alpari demo and it works there so NOT limited to IBFX.

Just received an email from Dean Saunders for an addon that does something similar for $97. Seems a bit pricey.

Yeah, there are a few different tools for sale, i think they work a bit better because they also export the tools bars with the charts, so you can do TA, and access the new orders window etc... The IBFX is a bit basic... but still it does the job and is free!
When I put the undock script on my chart it disappears and can't seem to find it, though I can still see the tab for it?

Anyone have this problem?

Try sending him an email "@tools4meta.com". Use "support" , "info", or any combination of usual words. May work. His domain name is still up...

I've been looking for a solution for this too and came across another option not mentioned here:

You have to pay for this but you can try it out for free. I haven't purchased it or installed the trial yet so I can't say if it is any good, but just thought I'd mention it for others who might be looking.
Ok just to follow up, I installed both the IBFX script and the trial version of Floating Charts and here's what I found out:

IBFX Script


PROS:

  1. free of charge
  2. use like any other script
  3. no extra software to install or have running

CONS:

 

  1. NO TOOLBAR OR RIGHT CLICK FUNCTIONALITY ON UNDOCKED CHARTS (just a "ReDock" button)
  2. need to install script to all instances of MT4 you have on your computer
  3. no "undock all" option



Floating Charts


PROS:

 

  1. undocked charts have toolbar and right click functionality
  2. one install allows floating charts on all instances of MT4 you have installed
  3. "Float All" and "Unfloat All" options to undock/redock all open charts at once
  4. Free trial version available (I don't know what restrictions are on it, haven't noticed any...time maybe?)

CONS:

 

  1. full licensed version costs $47
  2. need to install the software and have running in background (uses around 4500K memory)



That's it! Ignoring the cost, the Floating Charts wins hands down for me. The toolbars and right click menu on the undocked charts are what make it superior in my view...but people will have to decide if that is worth the $47. Or maybe just keep using the trial?? I have attached some screenshots of both...the undocked charts are maximized but you can see in the toolbar they are a separate window from MT4.

now, IBFX Script can't use on MT4 buil 499, Metaquote blocked it @@

plze, don't update to build 499, if you want to use.
