Hello everyone.

I have been reading this website for couple of years now and have been trying to trade successfully all that time, I started trading in 2007 and im still not profitable. I started by reading james16 tread and tried to apply his methods, but for some reason it didnt work for me. I have tried various support and resistance, trendline and breakout methods as well and it seems I cant get this right. I have always (well, appart from the very beginning) used higher timeframes, 4h to daily. And at the moment i use weekly timeframe and wait for a range breakout, trendline or formation breakout. Im still loosing, just less, but i have until this day been very conservative. (Yes, im a cheap bastard and have only use 0.01 lots).
But it just happens that I come to the moment that i just stop beliving it is possible to be profitable from trading forex and make a living from it.
I have started to read this tread and others started by NanningBob and im currently trying to read and grasp the concept of this trading strategy. I hope i will find success in this, it has been a hard jorney, not because i have lost a lot of money but because it has been frustrating.
Wish everyone the best.
Doroteo

So, have you guys been constantly profitable with this strategy? I understand that it seems that not all strategies work for everyone, but thats also what makes this buissness so hard to belive in because one can say that this is the way i trade and i have been profitable so far, and then this someone has a website with all the important information about his strategy. But... of course you have to pay a membership to get all the secrets and even if you would register there is no guarantee that you will get what you thought you paid for. I have never signed up for any of those but i see Jaco and james16 have websites that they charge for membership. One time i seriously thought about becoming a member of james16 group, but i just didnt want to pay so much every month for information and strategies that may or may not work. And just couple of days ago i was reading the jaco tread and it seems that he also promised something that he couldnt do, so he seem to have dissapeared with his members money. I dont know how good traders those guys are, I hope they are doing fine and that this is some missunderstanding about Jaco. But it makes you think about that you dont have any physical proof of who is a good trader or not. I for one am not a profitable trader, im very conservative and i read a lot and try to understand how to make money from this market, but the more i read, the more confusing it gets. I just wanted to start here to get more involved and by asking questions in this forum i might get some answers. Have a good day.. and good luck.

Best regards.

Well, Welcome. My name is Bob and I run a school in Nanning China. Trading and softball are my two favorite forms of relaxation. I post my trades and systems because it forces me to follow my own rules and not trade in an undisciplined matter. Well, actually I still sometimes do that is why I am still sitting on this DD on the gbp/cad. Even though my name is on the thread it is the shared thoughts of others that I mull on and then come up with some off the wall ideas. For example if it wasnt for my conversations of an idea with Squalou there would be no CTR. Steve has written many foundation EAs for my systems. Bouncing ideas of off many guys, too many to tell you all, created these systems. I guess you can say I was able to facilitate the ideas into a usable system. So I am an out of the box thinker and one thing that drove me nuts. Probably over 80% of traders can never win consistently so my thought was, Why should I follow their advice if it doesnt win? So welcome to my crazy little world where some people seem to make some money every month, slowly but steadily.

Hi Doroteo,

I thought I would jump in and say a quick word as I am very similar to you. I have been jumping from system to system for 2 years, doing lots of reading etc but always seem to be the wrong side of the market! I am more of a lurker than a poster but I have been following Steve's EA's and Bob's systems for a while now and one thing I can say is that these guys know what they are talking about. Steve's ability to churn out the EA's is incrediblle and that coupled with Bob's stratagies I feel are a winning combination.

I am still learning NB10.0 and started on a demo yesterday, so far i have banked approx 300 pips (on demo) trading the system manually, not bad in 1 day I need to free up some room on my VPS so that I can get Steve's EA up and running on demo as this looks very promising also.

There are area's that I am still unclear on but Bob's instructions are so well laid out that i'm sure it won't take me long to grasp everything.

Thanks to Bob for sharing the system and I hope to be able to contribute more to the thread going forward.

Good trading all

Actually, this is one of the hardest thing for traders to understand.

It is impossible to detail in written form every wrinkle of a trading strategy, and every nuance provided by the strategy designer's trading experience.

Traders talk about 'taking ownership' of a strategy. What we mean by this is, taking a strategy and adapting it to suit our own individual needs and trading styles. I have yet to meet one that worked for me ootb - and that includes Bob's.

To trade another trader's strategy successfully we need three things:

  1. A thorough understanding of it.
  2. The ability to adapt it to our own needs/personality/trading style.
  3. Patience to stick with it.

All of these take a lot of hard work.

A couple more general points:

  1. There is so much fantastic advice available free of charge here at FF, that only an idiot pays for it elsewhere.
  2. There are so many fantastic EA's available free of charge here at FF, that only an idiot pays for them elsewhere.

Guess how I know?

EUR/AUD +106

RECOVERY USING IO
GBP/NZD

OK we got school open on time yesterday, glad that is over. Stopped trend trading after these trades so let see what happened.

IO
EUR/AUD +26 pips closed not going anywhere.
GBP/AUD +50 closed way too early
GBP/JPY +50 didnt go anywhere
OI
GBP/CHF never entered
USD/CHF +1 closed Friday night and went to bed

RECOVERY USING IO
GBP/NZD + 120 pips another trade I closed too early but I am playing ranging all the way this month.

total +247

So market ranged all week and didnt catch anything exciting. Messed up on the gbp/aud and gbp/nzd by closing too early.

So for the week

247 + 671 = 918

Thanks for such a wonderful system bob. I am trying to understand the system before I put it into trading.

May I know the DD in above case.... 918 pips/week is too good if the DD is low.....

Except for the gbp/nzd there really wasnt much DD to deal with at all. The trades entered and then went in the direction or stagnated. However, the markets were not moving much at all. I think the gbp/nzd was between 2-300 before it went to profit but that is the wildest pair I trade. I would not recommend it unless you know if very very well. I wont even think of a 2nd level on that one until it is 3-500 pips down. It is really really volatile. August is usually a quiet month and it was my target for this system so people could get a handle on it before the action really starts this fall.

You can check the volatility of each trade because they were all daily EAs using either OI or the IO EA. You can check where it crossed the line and then go to a lower chart and check how much it bounced around. In my testing phase I did have one day I did 1000 pips in one day but I caught the IO EA and a news story hit and bingo I got the BO right on each pair traded. So there have been some pretty good days. I know there will be bad days also at some point but with the markets ranging right now I am not too worried.

I suggest that you go to Babypips.com and study the forex trading educational program to give you an idea of what Forex is all about. As far as loading this particular system on your computer Bob's instructions contained in the downloadable files are pretty specific. Hope this helps.

Yes it can be confusing. Start with a demo account and practice using them. This thread will mostly deal with the Daily EAs. They are the easiest to understand and use. I will be posting some of my trades from time to time so you can follow along. Once you learn those you can then practice with the 1H and 4H EAs. It will take time to learn all of the system but once you do I think it will be rewarding.

Okay, I'm starting to make a little headway understanding when to put these ea's on. Just a few questions for Bob or whomever...

What about lot size. Do you always stay with the minimum or bump it up with account balance.

It seems there's not much talk in the booklets about using the RWB. Are we not concentrating on those anymore?

So, for trading on the daily:
Price above the lines = OI ea ( and is this just for a CTR or am I looking for a trend change as well with this)
Price between = buy or sell in direction of expected trend.
Wide lines with price in between = BO ea.

Am I getting that right?

Thanks
