Account is now - 19.66% up in 1.5 days dd is a whopping 9.78 with currently 11 live trades -

I have 1 rougue trade 200 pips down eurnzd :-(

I should have hedged it at 100 but was away from my desk as it was and still is in rwb 4hr no-mans land neither over bought or sold

This is the difficulty i have not having time to sit on the trades and babysit the runners - i have hedged it now until it trades upto over bought or over sold to deal with later

Any way will keep you updated if you are interested

I would be very interested in keeping up with this hedge trade. Let us know and maybe I will throw in some advice along the way.If you follow 10.0 you would stay hedged as long as price stays above both lines and unhedge when it crosses over the blue and go with a short counter trade. This would be exciting to watch a trade like this live.

HI Steve. Thanks for showing up. I cant imagine it getting any better. I think this will be the best I can ever do. There maybe some minor improvements with experience over time but I am hoping this fall when things are trending we will be able to catch some really good moves. The biggest difference I can see so far is the profits are much bigger, I am catching bigger moves more often than I have ever done before. I have caught 28 moves of over 100 pips this month which averages almost 2 a day. I have never done that well before. Because of this I am averaging around 1% increase every day on my account which is a shocking number. I have even survived a -1400 pip negative trade and brought it back to even. This is better than I ever imagined but most of this has been done with my range trading system. However, I have caught several good trend moves but this is only August. Anyway welcome.

Yes, I already have one live trade, an EChf buy that is +166 at the mo, has been as high as +180 and has +50 safely locked in.

Granted, this is hedging two smaller sell trades that were themselves hedging the buy I found myself on the wrong side of as the pair tanked, but hey, profit is profit and I am not knocking it. Your beautifully clear and precise method of trend-detection offers me a more constructive way forward than was offered by Trendy - itself a considerable step forward.

And it is fantastically simple and clear-cut.

Hehe. Apparently I make playing Mozart piano sonatas look stupidly easy. Just like a comedian's hysterically funny 'ad-lib', this is actually the result of hours and hours and hours of practise. Your trend-detection is absurdly simple; I bet you toiled for hours and hours and hours to perfect it.

So, thanks a billion for sharing it with us. You really are a star.

Incidentally, I have realised that all I need to do to get the ctr stuff going in BigBob is copy the code from the existing EA's, so I shall do that tomorrow. From there, it is just a matter of deciding how/when to implement Recovery and Hedging; no doubt there is stuff in your documentation to help and we can develop ideas further from there.

Cheers

Wow. Interesting strategy. You hedge at 100 pips? May not be a bad idea, actually I was planning on having a hedging thread with a similar idea. You could ride the hedge until price crosses back with an OI EA that closed the hedge and added a counter trade. Lets say you do .20 lots and hedge at 100pips. If price moved 500 pips and then when price crosses back over with an OI EA it would close the profit trade of the hedge at 500 pips, you would have a +500 and a -600 trade. You would set a .20 counter trade. 50 pips later it would BE (the negative 100 would be gone and all trades would equal 500 + - and then profit after that at .40 a pip. So what started as a -100 pip losing trade ends up an easy BE or better yet can become a profit trade. Dang I like that. Anyway that was my idea. What do you think? You can wait out a trade no matter how volatile or crazy the market gets. You wait until it ranges again and clean it up. With this strategy you could play with larger lots since you are only going to let price run only 100 pips against you.

Your idea seems great as at anyone time you are at worst 100 down with hedge before OI closses it and the set ctr both again to recover perhaps steve could set this up in the ea as recovery option as a complete strategy
As mats range 80% of the time with revovery set to l2 it shouldd recoup 100 dd with. A couple of trades
Another idea I am working on is with ctr working so well hedge and then match losses with winners this way you cap your losses and are not commpounding loses with increased lot sizes

Discussion continues

That was my motivation behind 10.0.
1. Come up with a system that reentered based on price movement not an approximate 200 pips. This cuts down on reentry levels a lot.
2. Have your reentry lots be much smaller and easier to handle.
3. Define precisely where we can take such actions. In other words a better definition than what we used to have.
4. Find a way you can still trade with a USA broker.
5. CTR was a pleasant surprise that popped up when I was trying to work out a programming problem with Squalou. It was my discussions with him in trying to get a certain move to work and the possibilities that lead to CTR. I love the CTR EAs. Dang they just keep cranking out the pips and the entrances are really solid.
