Anybody with any more useful ideas?

Dear Mr Hopwood,

I have finally got the mptm to attach on a chart having downloaded a new demo form AVA FX.

The problem is that mptm does not close an order at a TS of 5 pips and send a replacement trade for the same pair. So fatr the hedging function is working well.

I attach a screenshot of this morning's trades. At least the EJ pair should have closed at a TS of 5 on a number of occasions this AM. Sadly it has not, nor has a repalcement trade executed.

Something is not working as intended.

Could you please take a look at this.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Nicastro

ps I have used the latest version of mptm from post 1 on this thread downloaded this AM.

mptm does not send trades. You need the DC ea for that.

DC does the trading. mptm does the managing. You need one of each on separate charts.

I just added a fix to mptm in post 1 to solve a glitch that has arisen.

I now have several hedge trades in place. the GChf buy triggered a trailing stop that I do not want. If this trade retraces to hit the ts, mptm will close it. Then it will recognise that there is a GC sell that needs hedging, and hedge it.

That is LUC kicking in, as often happens when an ea is subjected to varied use not originally envisaged.

I have added a new input to the hedging section, AllowTrailingJumpingStops. Defaulting to false, this stops mptm trailing the hedge.

Hi DryClean, I have been doing this strategy that you provided and it seems to be doing very nicely. Are you still doing this or have you improved upon this since this post. Thanks - TCO.

I have had this ea set up running since 03-28-11
It is a 4HR TF set it and forget it
14 pairs put latest ea form post 1 on each chart load the BJ4 preset
let it fly

Up almost 4% in a week draw down 0.73% on a $1000 account using 0.01 lots. I have never seen more than 3 trades going at 1 time.

Very conservative entry

Will let run till end of month and then go live May 1st if still going well

Any EA + settings that's doing well during these tumultuous time deserve a try

PS disregard MPTM on chart has no use in this it was inactive there

Hi DC,

Great results. I want to parallel your testing. What EA are you using, there are 2 on post 1. The one named after you or the original?

Thanks - TCO.

Using T101 Basket.( trading Long and Short)

Risk:
The risk is usually the previous candle low or High. ( so I change to lot size)

I am also running the original B on the daily, the direction B takes is the mid-term ( weekly Trend), and it trades in that direction. I normally, kill the turn arounds( small lost) and BE + 5 the winners, No TP. Let the market decides, sometimes I move the SL to lock in PROFIT.

I then view the monthly TF ( fundametal + Technical) and to see the longterm Monthly. I confirm this with PA and EMA ( 5/10 cross). Momentum is also shown with 5/10 EMA seperation this is another check for confirming your positions( on the Daily, weekly, Even the 4H).

CAREFULL WHEN SWICTHING TIME FRAME B WILL TAKE TRADES IF CRITERIAS ARE CORRECT

This results in hundred of pips in the longterm and no sitting at the computer screen.

B is a real winner. I wanted to Ask Steve to add the EMA checks in B but after really analyzing the logics, there is no need to, because B does Price Action and it is the Truth.

The only thing is you might suffer small losses and Lots of BE, but the big winners covers those losses.

ISSUE with B:
on the daily it should ignore the Sunday Bar at the start of the week. So I start it at the close of Monday Bar. Not a BIG issue as it is better to be late than too early.

I thank Steve and Brain and Grame again. As Brain said there's no Wrong or right way to trade. Just do what's good for you, life and family.

Peace and Love

I'm am currently using B to build positions, however this process involves lots of small losses.

Steve is it possible to have B enter two positions. This is the current function.

SendSingleTrade(int type, string comment, double lotsize, double price, double stop, double take)

the idea is to Breakeven 1 position and take profit on the other at the Boson lines or at X pips. This way we keep building the account short-term and replenish losses. Then leave a position for growth or death.

If you post the code I'll insert it, compile and test.

Right now B is working out really well with catching the trends, the maket is pretty much ranging, so the 4hr I think is the battle ground for Ranging and Trending market, but I have a long term out look, on the weekly-monthly.

Thanks very much
