Oh, I agree, I mainly use them on 2, 5, and 15 min tf's.

That would be a valid trade. The exit would have been the top of the bar below the #1 bar according to Bill's rules but I personally would have place a stop 1 pip below my entry after a couple of down bars. I play things very tight and since I like using 2 minute time frames I get a lot of fractal trades. I also use BDB's to get back in trades as well.

Hi, I'm reading New Trading Dimensions now and just wanted to know how Bill Williams' method is working for you guys. Has anyone seen an EA for this? From what I've read so far it looks like it's a mechanical trading system with no interpretations needed, so I'll definitely write an EA for this once I finish reading the book.

EDIT: I only found one EA for this one mql code base, but it appears to be using wrong indicators and MAs.

FWIW- I know of one commercial EA that was written based on this system- the drawback was getting that one "account killer" stuck on a top or bottom... It's too bad because the results can be "amazing". It's probably best just to start an EA from scratch and use the 4hr high/low for SL.
What would be cool -- the farther from the High/Low. have the EA change the lot size the same risk- instead of using a fixed size. that way 20 pip Sl would risk the same amount in your account as a 150pip SL

It had NO SL...so when the major trend changed- the DD would be catastrophic.

Here is another useful BW indicator - a multiple time frame AO.

Add it as many times as you want to the bottom of your chart then set each copy to the time frame of your choice. it enables you to tell what the AO is doing in other time frames with just a glance. When all of those higher time frames all have AOs that are green or red, it pretty much helps you make decisions.

I have mine respectively set to M15, M30, M60, M240 and D1. It is handy tool for prospecting through a series of of pairs to determine which ones are of merit.

Now if someone could write and alarm that sounds when all the MTFAO are the same color.... Or maybe display them in the upper right hand corner of a screen like the signal bars indicator does... that would be very handy.

I have also attached signal bars for anyone/everyone to look at. I have set the MACD in my siganl bars to 5,34 5 in a reasonable attempt to get the MTF AO replicated.

As for other indicators, has anyone tried using the Laguerres (Lags) as explained by Imram Sait on FF?

There is a good measure of correlation between the AO and the Lags that we might explore.

Chaos is pretty good as it is but we should always push the envelope.

I'd rather not modify the system at all. Bill Williams says one reason why most traders who fail using his system is because they simply don't follow the rules.

I've been making some tests and it's crazy how much you profit from a single trend... on one trend I made 16 add-ons and only 4 of these were unprofitable. Result: a 750 pips trend gave me 7055 pips. On a exceptionally crazy uptrend of 6200 pips I didn't only get 6200 pips, I got 32.700 pips... So why would you modify this system, right ?

This trading system is just sick, I never got so excited about a trading system

You have to read the book "New Trading Dimensions" by Bill Williams to understand the system. Here there is also information, but there are some minor missing parts which may be crucial.
- For Chaos traders I programmed a little indicator (smChaos TrendModeAll) to get signals if the Alligator lines harmonize, and the colours of the AO&AC indicators match. (You can check this in chart1).

- The second posted indicator ( smPA_PriceRetracement_v1) draws retracement lines, and can be also used for other systems... (chart2)

- If you combine the Chaos signals with Support&Resistance lines, maybe can you find useful setups (chart3).

Totally agree, this system is amazing indeed... excellent trend following and also an excellent counter-trend system as well..
