That would of been a pretty scary short, looks like its starting to pay off. This is one of my favorite pairs as well.. What spread are you guys paying for this pair?
Ignored
Don't get scared, but I have to pay a spread of 16 pips!

What about you?

I am glad to see more and more threads dedicated for discussing AUDNZD.

I hope there could be a way to group as many AUDNZD fans (traders) as possible into one ongoing thread where we could share thoughts, analysis, and trading techniques.

It is an interesting pair indeed, specially for scalping, but could cause you huge losses sometimes.

The major obstacle in trading this pair is the spread, as most brokers have ranging spread from 8-20 for this pair.

Anyway, if you are able to master scalping this pair, you could easily double your balance every week.

Good luck to all.

So far it is the only pair I have ever traded so far. Love it and expect to start trading it more and more as time goes on.

I see this thread is small, hopefully it will gain more traction as I would watch closely, and start participating more with thoughts about this pair as my trading experience goes up.

Wedge seems to be forming. Can be seen on the 1 hour chart. 1.2950 seems to be the resitance point.

Retail sales figures and trade balance figures coming out in about 2 hours from now. May push it beyond wedge top if positive AUD. However if that does not occur then there is big news next week - AUD interest rate anoucement. Interest rates predicted by market to stay put at 4.75%. If they increase this to 5% then we will definitly break the 1.2950 level on the AUDNZD.

Personally, I expect this move to continue upwards.
But, I'm also prepared to close some positions if I see that the price will start to correct to much.

I attached the chart with my long positions on the daily chart.

Fully agree with the last posts here: I'm too expecting new highs - at least 1.348 or 1.364 as the maximum.

Metatrader of FXCM - they have data since 1989. Does anybody know where to find graphs from an even more distant past (since the beginning of '80 for example)?

I have made the chart myself - from aud/usd vs nzd/usd (of course, the result cannot be 100% precise, but clearly shows the trend). Until 1990 these are daily data, since 1990 - weekly (so, the scale there is condensed).
It seems that after some retracement we are heading towards 1.39-1.41 area somewhen in January.

Good morning

I am short at 1,34200.Current trendline is unsustainable sooner or later to be tested and current price is streched far above 200 dma. This usually brings down this pair.

if been holding out for Q3 GDP which comes out in a few hours, this could give a better opportunity for a short
