Max,

I'm not sure about your logic in switching to ex4... maybe you think your close to your holy grail that you don't need any more testers to prove your theory or whatever its late and I'm not going to bother.

But if your going to use GMTShift in KG logic atleast use it everywhere... just sound programming practices. Don't assume that others aren't capable to understand code. If I had the MQ4 I could have fixed it to work now I have to decompile and look for TimeLocal what a mess! Cmon dude what are you thinking!

So you have some times that are local to your computer WITHOUT a GMT shift and others with a GMT shift for KG's basket RSI filter.. just confusing why I wasn't getting any trades since my shift is -7 and not 2 by default.

Wasted day of testing

Jag

don't waste time with GMT shift it's not used for moment I will fix it soon.
It's for this reason I don't want realease mq4 for moment because I receive tons of PM from people ask me questions about my code, some parts that are not finished or fixed
Yes I will realease the mq4 don't be afraid as soon the bot will be rather clean

Here is trading results in M15 from Thursday afternoon (NB + Simon Trenline + Max OB/OS

Guys - sorry to repeat a previous post...

Nanning bob has recently mentioned on his own thread that he has had some success with the TMA indicator, rather that the six's.

Any chance this could be incorporated into Max's or Steve's bot?

WHat do you think?

I have not been keeping up with what is happening here.

Beastie, I see you have been making some more improvements. Many thanks. Could you do me a favour, please, and post the updated bot here so I can simply copy it into post 1?

Cheers

MAX,
running v71c
dont see a magic # parameter.
Can I run it with other EA's in same account without a magic # function, or would I need to add that?
Thanks!

Easily, although I think this robot may be left behind with Bob's V6 developments. If you like, I can do a version of NB that uses the TriangularMA indi instead of BB - it would only take a few minutes.

In the meantime, have a play with the attached. It is an updated version of one I coded it for Bob when he first started thinking about using the new indi.

The robot works in two ways:

  1. At the open of a new candle:

    1. takes a buy if the new candle opens above the top line, breaking out from below
    2. takes a sell if the new candle opens below the bottom line, breaking out from bove
    3. sl is the middle line
    4. tp is open price +- the distance from open price to middle line

  2. At all other times:

    1. takes buys/sells on re-entry to the bands from outside.
    2. tp is the middle line
    3. sl is calculated as per the tp for trade-method 1

Anybody stall able to spare a bit of demo capacity might like to pop this on and see if it has legs. I haven't and to spare, so it is languishing unused.

Hi Steve

Thanks for these, Bluemele and I are urging him to consider Starc indicator instead, we have been looking into it and looks very promising.

Kind regards

i don't know if this was said before, but
be careful with using starc or tma alone as a signal.
i am trading with the cog from belkhayate since a couple of months. if you use cog alone you will not get good results. and i think it's the same with starc and tma. someone wrote that these two do not repaint, only shift. but i recommend to use additional confirmation (eg. rwb, ma-cross etc.).

Steve,

I was going to put an EA together, but considering you are about 2,000% faster than me, then by all means.... It would take me about 1.5 days to build it where you, 1.5 minutes? haha...

Also, this is a good time to thank you as you can see some times people get testy over their code and a lot of work you guys put in to build these things goes unappreciated! Now, after having built a few EA's, I realize the time and energy and passion you must have to then see it fail and on to the next one! (not saying you only build bad EA's.... )

Anyways, I suggest building a new bot from scratch and not messing up the existing bot.

I will send you my settings and rules via PM.

I have visually backtested as well as put the simulator on about 20 currencies over the last couple years in all the bad spots and tested some different settings.

Oh, combining DSS is a possibility with it, but after looking deeply at it, I don't believe it adds any value. I think the key is the inputs, money management and technical rules.
We are our own best indicator.

This version contains the changes regarding the use of BbSeparation, and also screentop and screenbottom are calculated rather than using WindowPriceMax(0) and WindowPriceMin(0).

Cheers, Beastie.

Ok guys, I am really just showing off now.

The attached: sells (or is intended to) at a touch/pierce of the upper band; buys (or is intended to) at a touch/pierce of the lower band.

TP and SL are the distance from open price to the middle line. As this is an Atr-based indi, SlMultiplier and TpMultiplier do as their names suggest.

Have a play and see if it is any good.

Thanks Beastie. You are a star.

I simply copied this over mine on my coding machine. It is also in post 1 now, so the changes are locked in place.

Comes of having a serviceable ea template in place; most of the work is done without me typing any code.

Our replies passed in the ether. I love the changes you suggest and am going to adopt them.
