Delta Phenomenon

Let me tell you this much: I SURE hope that 'The Delta Phenomenon' is 'on the mark': is anybody watching the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P Futures today??? Something really good had better happen before the NYSE opens tomorrow I'll tell you!!! On the other hand if it turns out to be an 'inversion' then it's 'oh fu*k' for the Dow!!! But that's the problem i.e. I need to know where to put the '1' because an inversion can only (is only) supposed to occure at a point '1'. Are we at a point '1' now (I mean is a point '1' supposed to be somewhere around the 22 Jan grid line)???

Dear Delta Followers,

I hope that a couple of you are following this post and saw the DJIA fall at scary speed down some 400 points. My prediction of the low was 11967, now the low fell through that and hit the 3.140 fib ext of the last correction, I did not expect the move to be so strong, but it closed within three point of my price. If this is the low then I would not expect it to close no lower than this price from now on.

Tommorrow is the seventh day of this fall, I think the bottom is in.

Did you ever looking into Sloman's Ocean stuff? Any feedback on what that's all about?

BTW....when I get the chance....I was going to throw the rotation given by Maxster for the EU on my charts and see how it lined up with "that other stuff". I'll let you know if I see something. I've not looked at this Delta stuff for years. Pretty sure I've got the solution for most of the single currencies from when I traded futures.

Good on you (and the rest of us). The Dow is UP as I type. (Bad hangover today though that's why 'so quiet' today)!!!

I see the S&P is also up so far today but I'm worried about the Nasdaq: why is it lagging behind?

I just noticed something. For some or the other inexplicable reason my broker has a 'f*ck up' on the US CFD's and indices i.e. the bar for yesterday is 'combined' with the bar for today i.e. there is no new bar for today only yesterdays bar combined with the movements for today almost as if the charts did not 'tick over' yesterday. How about that!!!

I must tell you that I'm 'battling' with Delta on these instruments though i.e. I had another good look today and I don't know if it's just because of my hangover or what but it's not that 'clear' on them. On the Gold charts it just 'jumps' out at you though.

Oh well, I'll 'draw some more colored lines tomorrow' and see what I come up with. Maybe something will 'jump out at me' again tomorrow!!!

LOL - I guess I do get around - years since I tried to use delta for trading the FTSE Index - and failed!

I also tried Ocean - just another fancy indicator with a hard sell - naked's better - once you get used to the idea!

Just for interest sake I thought I'd attach a current chart of the Dow with 'basic' Delta plotted. 'Uncanny' is the only word that comes to mind!!!

Just thought I'd attach a chart from about a week ago as well i.e. prior to the current one for comparison purposes (sorry the quality of the older chart is not so great but you can still read my 'Delta predicitions')!!! (The older chart is the second one in this post).

Just to let you all know that I have not been sitting on my laurels and watching you good people post, no I have been getting down and dirty with the king of pattern trading Mr larry Pesavento.

Now, I could not get Delta to work for me because I am a wild sort of guy that hate having his stop kicked and I would rather make 4 pips then have a 50 point stop hit, so what have I been doing.... I called Mr Pesavento, who by the way is one hell of a nice guy and asked him to teach me all he knew about patterns. For the past three weeks I have been getting his chart and studying them to see how a master see the markets.

Very, very educational. I would say that in retrospect Delta looks fantastic especially if you move your points around a bit, but we are in the business of trading the market and not predicting the future.

Delta is a fixed time based system, very similar to that proposed by Hurst, now the markets are not based on static cycles, the cycles are dynamic in as far as they expand and contract. Think of it like this, you can fib price and project where the next wave might end, it is not set in stone, but I like most traders use it and it can be very very accurate. but what about time, how many off you use fib time to project the current wave forward, not many, because time is a hard concept to get your head round, price is easy.

I use time in my trading and now I regularly make money instead of losing it like I did when I started. Thats not to say I don't lose, of course I do and this is where my next reverlation is going - money management we often hear about it but seldom practice it especially in the begining.

You can day trade with 15 point stops - once I am in a contract that stop get pushed over the last bar high or under the last bar low and I only move it in the trade direction. I often get stopped out for a small profit, where as when I traded a delta method, I would often get hit for 100-200 point loss waiting for the market to turn. Trade the market, not the belief.

Make your call, base it on sound research and say if i am right what will the market do and if i am wrong what will it do. Set your stops accordingly. If you are selling a turn and you have picked the top, then logically the market should drop off from here, if it exceeds your top then you are wrong! It is not a problem to be wrong in trading set your stops, they will take care of your mistakes, when you are right never be in a hurry to close your position. I use to close on targets only to see the market carry on and go further, not being totally silly I modified my approach, now I use my stop to close me out, I keep moving it in the direction of my trade.

Sometimes, i get a little less then my ideal target, often I get a lot more, trading is about risk control and management.

Sorry if I am going on and off topic, ok here we go...

Delta is nothing but a rough guide, use fib time to plot each wave forward, which fibs to use? Well go back to the previous day, measure the peak to peak trough to trough, high to low, then start projecting forward from the last high or last low, when price and time fibs cluster expect a turn.

Please take into consideration that the charts of "fintrans" show the full moon dates only, not the Delta turning points.
Fyi, blue numbers are the ITD (Intermediate Time Delta); red numbers are the MTD (Medium Term Delta) and black numbers are the LTD (Long Term Delta) dates.

I would never trade something like Delta, which purports to predict market turns in coincidence with lunar phenomena. Much is left to the trader's own subjective judgment. To me, this approach runs counter to trading on price action as it actually manifests itself, which is the only way to trade rationally (and therefore profitably)

Apparently he's now peddling something called the "Ocean Theory" of the markets. Oh, and there is an "Ocean Plus," too. F a s c i n a t i n g.

Delta is at best an interesting speculative theory of the way of the markets. At worst, it is a scam. I don't know how it is that Mr. Sloman convinced Welles Wilder to purchase this from him for a large sum of money. Perhaps Wilder was still, after all of his innovations, wishing and hoping and dreaming.

Hate to say it but the markets are affected by the position of the planets, not in an astrological way but in a hard downright physical way.

Think of the planets as weights on a wheel, with the sun at the center, now imagine that the weights can spin around freely, so sometimes they are all on one side of the wheel. think what that does to the center of mass distribution, it distorts it and pulls in off to one side.

This is exactly what happens to the sun, causing it to undergo "sunquakes" and become more energetic, hence more energy get pumped out, this has a direct effect on the earth.

I attach a pdf by Al Larso who I consider to be the absolute genius in this field, he worked it all out from his study of Ganns work and methodical testing and analysing his ideas and theorys.

Open your mind to what really moves price, its 50% emotion not based on any solid hard fact, ever ask why does a price move to a particular point?

It's because that where its energy level is at its lowest and price is in balance, as soon as it moves, it goes to the next balance point the market price on anything almost behaves in a quantum fashion, its because the market is a chaotic system, with price being moved by emotion and fact (news). Emotion is influenced by the suns interaction with the earth, its magnetic and electric field. Traders are influenced by it, look up effects of electric field, and magnetic fields on the human brain, you will be surprised.

DELTA is a wonderful discovery. I started learning about trading 13 months ago, and trading 'properly' (to at least a reasonable extent) from November last year. I thought I had researched and read about possibly every single technical method, however I was always concerned that 95% of them were focused on price and not time - which is UNDENIABLY more important than price, though due to the human way of thinking the majority of research over the years has centred on price (money). An interesting note is that my trading did not become consistently profitable until I started employing several time analysis methods. Anyhow, I was rather intrigued when I stumbled upon DELTA, and have since read the book and worked through several videos on it. I since have plotted my STD, ITD, MTD, LTD and my own adaptation of the method to trading particular patterns on the 1min/5min charts of heavily traded markets. Almost all of my methods for identifying a trade are rather uniquely applied, and delta is certainly a welcome edition to the family. It works, and with a little bit of creativity can be adapted to very short term timeframes (though not all the time, at least not that I can determine). Most importantly, it works. I think we as a society will find that there is a truly a natural order to how the world works, it just make take a few more centuries until the research gets anywhere significant.

...$245 bucks for the 'ocean theory' software package....hahahaha....and I bet your first trade with it will make up for it....hahahaha

the "Ocean" Package has nothing to do with DELTA. Only the developer (Sloman) is the same. Sloman sold the Delta knowledge to Welles Wilder.
Is anybody using the Ocean+ Indicators ?
