not wanting to be the self appointed dictator here, but the J16 thread is a splendid resource for PA with some stupendous posters there who post charts.

this is essentially a trend trading thread which is based on Jacko's system and i would be loathe to see other systems here.

now if PA is incorporated within the basic system, then no issues. i think castlerock is looking at PA around the 50% fib and trend lines for entries and i too look at PA to cement an entry.

GBPJPY has turned out to be a nice trade. Not trading cable at minute though, to ranging for me. Just out of interest was your trade based on what i've detailed below? Daily TL down and break of 1.6200 support, also recent PB.

seems to be alot of pairs that are close to the mark for this method but not quite there yet.

n/u has to be something to watch now for this method surely?
71.50 entry looks tempting

one thing i have learnt over this past day or 2 is it is worth waiting for a larger pull back to a trendline that isnt as steep. I think a few of these pairs had very steep 4 hour trendlines and the steeper they are the more likely they will fail.

perhaps something i will always think about in the future.

only if the daily bounced back substantially from the trend line. be very cautious. the $ has regained its mojo apparently.

you can call anyones system but after 7 years of trading now i belive price is every thing.of course james thread is great.it does not matter what you trade price is king .why the trend line breaks ? of course the momentum support.

it does not matter how much trend line you draw on the chart if you dont know the price action in the long run you will lose.remember my word none of the indicators are good with out price action.
all the professionals use price action.

blue, i still have longs on audjpy. for this particular trade i am not strictly trading our trending system here and my long trades are for the really long haul. i dont have issues with keeping them open for months.

my audjpy trade was based on fundamentals.

on the daily, my 50% fib is at 92.28 and i will look at a long based on our system here, only if the daily closes above that 50% fib. i have the same fib at same level on h4 too.

thanks coolshades.

I assume you mean 82.28 on audjpy.. I was looking more at the support line on daily running all the way back to Feb 2009, but I see the fib you mean. There also one from the previous low - 50% at about 81.40

around 82.00 now, so headed in right direction

Can you explain what you mean by "price action" - are you referring to the J16 type of PA or do you mean the movement of price as opposed to the movement of indicators?

Thanks,

Dan

Had a losing trade this week.

As I’m a day trader, I opt to trade off the smaller 15m charts. I check the higher time frames for support/resistance levels before entering, but I’m happy to trade younger trends off the 15.

EUR-GBP has been looking good lately. And the bounce off .8700 right on the downward trend line looked good for an entry. Sadly this pair went side ways and I had my stop at .8730. I should have taken and exit this morning and taken a small profit. But stupidly I forgot to check my calander this morning and the UK Retail figure pushed this pair past my stop :0(.

Is it worth considering an A-H position to recover your losses? I don't know your actual trade details so I don't actually know if it is worth it or not. If not, file it under "sometimes s**t happens"!

Dan

AH trade was successful, I closed at 1.6770 as marekt might test this TL from upper side this time.

i mean entering with the trend with price confirmation.yes you can say jakos system or any body.with bigger trend theres lot of smaller trend . enter with price confirmation and take advantage of smaller move ment or exit the possition.
i belive exit is most important than entry.i am a day trader some time i do take swing trade.
its your thread if you dont mind i will post some charts and explain how i trade.
if any one gets little from me i will be glad i helped someone .any question ?
