I traded my account from 700 up to 3.500, then had a drawdown and am @ 2.800 right now. I donīt have the 500% right now as I didnīt trade the silver position as aggressively as Joel did and I traded silver not in my FS account. So right now Iīm up 400% since I started in April 2008. Any more questions??
I donīt have a reason to write about it. This thread is in the recycle bin, the rules are crystal clear and what other reasons should I have?? Promoting this system/method? Sorry, got other things to do. But assuming that the system doesnīt work, because nobody posted for 3 weeks.....I donīt know.

You mean you use this same system to trade silver. I thought he just traded currencies with it and that's it. Can you provide me the link, you can PM me with it. The only info I received from him was the First Strike and First Strike Plus....
In his blog and his account he trades silver, but not following the FS strategy. Itīs long only speculating on higher prices when people start to focus on gold and silver when recession gets worse.

I guess with that train of thought you may never know how good or bad it really is, only those who can be bothered putting the trades on week in and week out will ever really know.

I get his emails, but haven't used the system. If he's up 500%, why isn't everyone else?

Maybe because everyone didn't start on the same day he did? And everyone may not have access to the silver trades, depending on their broker. And some people may cut their trades short. And some may not take all the trades each week. And some have changed the rules and parameters to something they are more comfortable with, for better or worse.
The thread got binned and that may have something to do with the limited participation. Also there are a lot of people trading the method that do not post on FF at all. The trading world isn't limited to those who post here, especially in the bin. My own results have been good but I don't feel the need to shout it from the rooftops, though I did in the beginning. Those taking the trades know exactly how they are doing and it doesn't matter much to those who don't.
The other methods I trade aren't discussed on FF at all. That doesn't mean they don't work.

Hi Geoff,
I have been placing each and every trade since the week of Dec 15, over all 66 trades across the recommended pairs, including the period when Joel did not post .....yet I have not left some of these trades unattended till the Monday close and have exercised discretion during this very volatile period. I have made a gain of 10.5 % to week ending Mar 16 which I find satisfactory considering the volatility. I have recorded all the results with my discretionary trades and the set Monday close, yet have not had the time to collate the results which I intend to do very soon. My hunch is that I have faired better than leaving the trades to close on Monday, visa vis using my discretion for the period that I have studied. As I have said earlier in this thread, I believe that this system may be one of the best entry systems when dealing with the weekly time frame that I have experienced.
For now it stays as a worthwhile system in my collection.....

This thread got binned because soembody put in a link to Joels semi commercial website rather than just his blog site. FF objected to the fact that he offers mentoring and does those workshops on the London Squeeze etc.
Personally, I don't see that there is any real differance to the way that Jacko operates in helping traders.

P.S. I am still in a drawdown since 16th Dec (though still >130% up) and am starting to get tired of it. So I am doing some serious backtesting using a modified version of Glen Noller's FSPLus EA.

Yeah, I know why we got binned. What I meant to say is that our move to the bin has caused a lack of participation, not the other way around.

I was planning to try out your version in a small live account but had to abort that as there was no update from you. Appreciate if you can post the development.

Here are my FSP trade summaries for the period 15th Dec to 20th April with discretionary close. I thought I would get that out straight away, you will also see gaps where I did not place the trade, that is human error. I think Joel should post these results on his Brag Blog as I am sure I have faired a great deal better during this action than leaving the trades until the Monday close, yet having said that I would like see any one that has placed these trades blind.
You should tell us when you close your trade more profitable than ours so we could be all richer I mean you are so good are you someone who can predict the future because you are my man you can tell me when to get out of a profitable trade at the best price do you know how valuable you are you are like the holy grail please let me know how you do this because youre so great congratulation to you you desrve it.

Hi Nicole99,
You must have been lurking quite a while to find this thread.
My advice:
Do not ever follow somebody's system with real money (even in a small account) without thoroughly testing it first.
Either:
Trade it in a Demo account.
Manually backtest it.
Get hold of, or write an EA to test it.
Then trade it with as little money as possible for a while. This advice is very applicable to FS because you really need to have supreme confidence in it to trade it properly, and if you don't trade it properly you may well lose money.
I have not done much testing of trying FSplus on other days, but what none of what I have seen has been as profitable as the Monday version. So I would advise you to stick to Joel's version - or at least a version that opens on a Monday.
I started trading FSP (no mods) 9 weeks ago. I am about breakeven now after starting off with 10 straight losses. I risk 1%/trade. Will try to remember to post here when I have more trades logged!

Well done in coding an EA and thanks for keeping this thread alive. I think it has been in the Re-cylce bin for over 3 months now. It is such a shame that people had to mention Joel's semi-commercial website and thus get the tread dumped. His free methods really have merit.
I have been trading them both with real money for over 13 months now, but not sticking to his rules for FirstStrike. So I am disappointed to have to say that I am only 7,059 pips up on FS and 1527 pips up on One Night Stand. But that still beats really good traders like Jacko by a large margin and with very little effort (just supreme intestinal fortitude).
There are a few EA's been made for FS. Glen Noller ( gnllr in FF ) has one which I had to modify for my MT4 feed, but I have not completed work on it yet, though I have used my modified version for some backtesting.
I think that (unless the start time is too anti-social for you), the best use of a FS EA is for backtesting.
I'm getting wrecked this week so far, but still playing by the rules.
I think I've missed a few trades, because Joel now places new orders even if carrying an old trade over from last week (thought that wasn't in the rules). As of Monday I was up 20% from my start on March 1st 2009, but after this week's 3 losses so far, my balance is only up 16.5%.
Does the above EA use 100 pip stops or volatility based stops?
