How do you identify imbalances?
On the futures footprint. I use clusterdelta which is a paid mt4 indicator. Sierra charts, ninja trader, atas also have good versions. I think RickM uses Sierra.
Best are the ones with a zero on either the bid or ask in the middle of the candle as these form over structure levels (SnR)
Short from 1.25 exactly was a pure imbalance fill. The nice thing is it gives you sniper trades as once they're filled the market doesn't need to go any further.
Having some order flow software is crucial for this strategy it won't work otherwise. Bookmap is also fantastic to have.

Isn't that actually a good sign? If everyone agreed with you, the market would go in the opposite direction!

may have to accept defeat this week
this has been the most challenging week since a)first week of the year and b)week following BoE March meeting

Was there also imbalance at 2568? Which it just filled and came down
I believe the market is a strong sell now at current price 1.25628

massive block order filled, been sitting around all day

I'll take this one given the possibility of gap fill today.

not sure on that one mate. It's quite hard to go back in time to check imbalances, especially very far back. For whatever reason clusterdelta jams up when looking at historical data.

decided to step back for a few days and no trades as of yet

1.2616-26 is extremely important, previous weekly POC

I'm waiting for a contact of this level which may provide the kick the market needs for DXY to retest the GAP left last week

So only one trade in mind really.

Given the volume of news this week, I can't rule out the swing high at 1.2680. Hunch is it wont reach that high but, its a case of waiting for the best confirmations on price action and footprint and making a call at the time.

Ideally DXY will touch 102.8-102.9

Why short when the pair is clearly bullish ?

I believe the gap on dollar will fill this week and if I just want one high RR trade to restore confidence, this is the best shot.

Still no trade. It was tempting to short from 1.2625 last night but, with FOMC around the corner it didnt make sense (I want to hold this one for a day or two). Would have given a good trade tho for 30 pips

We are going to take out the swing high at 1.2680. Only after that do i want to look for this one trade. May be after FOMC, may be Thurs morning, but it's coming soon

Volume is superb to have in your arsenal, this is basically a volume trading thread--there was no turning back once I got into this

This week just been enjoying the sun--rareity in Scotland--nice just to chill rather than trying to attack every day
And still no trade when i saw we hadn't quite touched 1.27 i was waiting for a quick spike up on FOMC to sell or, drop and pump back up to take out highs.

If we do the latter, i'll enter the sell tonight
have a long list of variables that need to be met before i can enter and it wasnt all there.

i think all you need is- session/daily/weekly highs & lows
major POC/HVNs (including S&D zones/areas)
daily open(UK/US)
previous swing highs and lows m15-w1.
fvg indicator is nice wish i could get the old one back though that just used two solid lines
