that's a great question.

for a coding breif i start with a word document and break my strategy down to steps. step one is pre trade, step 2 how to take the trade, step 3 how to manage the trade, step four how to reconcile the trade and step five how to end the bot.

I then create a flowchart of decisions made during a trade with forks going in yes / no directions - like is trade profitable? yes / no - yes = close trade and report profit - No = do something else etc. but it's a proper flow chart.

I then finish off with programmer notes such as any variables that need to be global so we can recall them in case of a crash, wether the bot should pick up existing trades etc etc.

I then ask for a signed NDA and send the brief out to them for a quote.

So this bot was only 1 strategy ?

Does the skeleton they did for you allow to add strategy 2 to n etc as you see fit or is the logic very specific to the Soul Strategy # 1?

IOW do you now have a generic bot that you as the thinker can add to as you go along for another line of Soul thinking?

Finally was it for 1 pair and or 1 timeframe or a generic whatever comes along and meets the rules thing .. say on all 28 major pairs ?

just because it did on friday doesnt mean it does it everyday.

and it's a semi automated bot. still my decision when to use it.

i dont do backtests, for myself or anyone else - the past does not equal the future.

Yes, but backtesing gives a very good indication (given a big enough sample size). I've done lots over the years to prove it.

That's for sure... It's the 'low risk' and '60% in a day' that I'm a bit sceptical of.

i'm not selling anything here.

to me the 'risk' as you call it isnt actually risk, it's investment float.

unlike you guys i dont buy something and throw it away if it goes down.

Me too.. I almost never write EA's anymore.. I write my trade consoles from Scratch using various API's.. Copy the trade if needed to MT4

MT4 is just way to limited, especially for multi pair baskets etc.

hi Soultrader i read your book once, i am your silent fan for the speed of the price.

I am a physicist by profession. Speed is distance divided by time. I once made a simple EA that counted the speed of each candle. The distance was the closing price minus the opening price, divided by the given TF. Moving on, if the next candles are slower and slower, it means that someone has stopped pushing the gas, there is no force to pull the price. As a physicist, I know it can be counted! this is acceleration having speed you can calculate the momentum, the momentum of the price is the mass times the square of the speed.

I also have been trading 20 years on and off and came to the same conclusions, been successful now for nearly two years with one major blip (reason thought I knew where the market was going) lost £77,000 in two months luckily it was the previous years profit, have now traded back that loss very good lesson learnt, looking forward to reading the whole thread, hopefully picking up some new idea and posting some of my own

People have been brainwashed for so long, it takes time to de-hypnotise yourself from the bullshit, I trade without charts now as they try and steer me to chart patterns and then causing me to have a bias, works for me may or may not work for you

Basically buy and sell at the same price + 2 pip TP no SL, once a TP hit open again same trade that has just closed,...repeat, up for tweeking to suit your needs, trading style, bank size etc. This is a trading style not an enter/exit system, hope this helps

Due to lots of PM's I'll post on here, this is not for everyone but if you can make use of it all well and good, practice on DEMO for at least a month, open BUY and SELL same price 2 pip TP on both No SL, when a TP gets hit open that one trade again 2 pip TP no SL, so you always have two trades on at any one time, one BUY one SELL , just DEMO that for a couple of days
