Ha ha, you're absolutely right - been there, done that, bought the tea-shirt and eaten the pie!
It always makes me laugh when people talk about 'Stop Loss Hunters' as if their £1 per pip is going to be of any interest at all to the guys trading tens of millions a day! It happens, but not as an attack on retail traders; the smaller guys are trying to outwit each other much of the time whilst the bigger ones are all talking to each other anyway.

Not Trading is as important a decision as opening a trade. Making that choice, if you're not pretty sure of what's about to happen makes this a gamble and the odds ain't great.
Sure, if you just want to throw away a few quid on a roulette wheel, go for it, but I learnt a long time ago that you don't have to be in a trade all the time although, I have to admit, the urge is there all the time.
Discipline, Patience and Money Management.

ROFL - Just as Gbp/Usd crested 1.2430, my MT4 system alerted me to "Buy signal on Gbp/Usd" - Yeah, I think you're a little late to the party, pal.
Happy now that I risked picking up another long Gbp/Usd at 1.2376, and another Gbp/Aud at 1.6665. Wish I'd sold some Eur/Gbp, but hey, you can only stick your neck out so far, right? In any event, my account's looking a lot better than it was a couple of hours ago.

Well, you can't complain that there's no action.
Stopped out of my Gbp//Usd 1.2376 buy at 1.2401 - bought it back again at 1.2365.
Fortunately, with the Aussie falling apart, even with Gbp/usd crashing, my Gbp/Aud is keeping me level.
I would say that the odds are that we now test 1.2350...but with the way this day has gone so far, it's anything but predictable.
