im already hearing rumors and my bank does the NFP wager game, our traders and analysts place bets on whos forecast is the closest to actual number, winner takes all....
from the looks majority is betting on a number pretty close to 300k, the mean of our NFP wager game so far for our participating traders and analysts are around~ 270k.

The furthest away from actual number has to buy all the participant a round of drinks tonight as a punishment lol
thx god im a fx sales trader, not trader nor analyst.... so no decision making on my part... just filling order for my multinational clients. and taking note of the traders' and analysts' wagers.

Even if the NFp comes out bad, if its not bad enough to change the Fed's View.... i will be looking to short if price goes up abit....
we'll know.... since yellen will talk a little after NFP figures are released.

Sorry just noticed your reply, the question was originally formed in relation to your comment of using a company to hold the brokerage account. I already have 4 live accounts to spread over but it would simplify everything so much if I could get a regulated spreadbetting company to accept a company as the primary. UK providers like CMC, GKFX etc require you to be UK resident to have an account and do not seem very helpful in relation to opening an account with an off shore company. I have access to an HK company so was just looking your thoughts on a reputibal platform to trade off. Not looking to invest 1m but 100k would be comfortable. So any thoughts would be helpful... (may look at a trustee set up for directors due to forward tax planning)

Hi,

honestly it is pretty simple, i had three main strategies:

1. breakout system, as you know last month most of fx currencies were trending in one direction which made it perfect system to use
2. candlestick system, i used 15 min & 1 hour time frame and was looking for candles like (engulfing, hammer, shooting star) given it indicates a move towards the overall direction (so in case a hummer for example gives me signal to go long while market is trending down, I ignore).
3. Advanced patterns (Gartely, Bat & Butterfly), I used them in fewer times than the other two, but the good thing with this one is I even considered counter trends (max up 32.8% retracement for counter trends and up to 100% for trend following).

Ah in that case.... i understand well... if you are a US resident, then ur shit out of luck because of the New FATCA rules, thats why a lot of foreign brokers cant open account for US citizens....

now if ur not US citizen.... i wouldnt recommend HK brokers, HK brokers are kinda fishy..... but i personally use an Australian Regulated Broker called Pepperstone....
pretty darn tight spreads and amazing fill speed.... im not trying to advertise them..... and heres why
i told you the Pros...
but the Cons is that they are purely FX trading.... they have very limited diversification, they are really pure spot trading,.... no forward contracts etc...
so if you are convinced ur only gona trade spot FX... then they're the one id recommend...
im sure theres also plenty other good ones out there....

well good to hear you are happy bro!

Trading counter trends (on smaller time frames) is only possible in a side way market (overall sentiment not one day only), but again taking a counter trend signal is like gambling! you know the risks are quite high but you care about the "expected" high gains.

To be honest, there are traders who can actually pick "tops/bottoms" and i know i'm not that kind of trader, so why take the risk?

as you can see... i cant stress enough how scared i am betting against the USD today.....
usually ISM numbers come later than NFP and when NFP is good ISM is good....
but for this month we got ISM earlier than NFP with a BIG BIG rosy jump on ISM.... i suspect NFP will also surprise upwards.....

I don't bother with the ifs, buts and maybes or trying to interpret data and how that should translate to PA - I feel for those who do. They make their life more difficult by doing so ...
