Disliked1,372x area was the key area today...a dip below it and it could have opened the way to 1,35.
Big boys won't let it happens before the magic 1,4000 it seemsIgnored
Dislikedyou guys need to break up so you can become a better trader. just sayingIgnored
DislikedWhy you want to speed it up? Don't really understand the ultimate purpose, we all trade because we want money, you want to capture every micro second and that helps you to get even more money?Ignored
DislikedYup, I keep finetuning my strategy and need faster PC's to get to the next level now, then I can finally automate the darn thing. I still miss moves during the day, today case in point, missed a 40 pipper during lunch or else I would have had each and every move since Asia last night, can' be having that now can we...And I am still missing the 10-15 pip start of the moves, that's why I am crunching more numbers just to get it a little more accurately.
The markets are more and more driven by machines and I got to keep adjusting my algos to keep...Ignored

DislikedAutomate? Seems to be some kind of holy grail, need to but my hacking skills at work.:nerd:
Don't worry, good luck with that.Ignored
DislikedWhat kind of processing power are you looking at anyway? I would be very surprised if your algorithms couldn't be optimized to run on a quad core 3.0 GHz processor or something. Well not surprised, just impressed by what must be a lot of complexity underneath.Ignored

DislikedI got dual 2.8 quads 8Mb cache and 16G RAm on each machine (HP z800's) and they can't handle it, not quite sure where the fuckups are really. I am a trader who has taught himself to program (which is probably the biggest problem) so now I am trying to find a shortcut to speed things up.Ignored
DislikedWell since you're running everything in MT4, chances are it's just because it's a tick run program that requires the "virtual machine" of the MT4 platform to run during your trading session. My guess is it's the same reason that Java programs are far more demanding and less efficient than those written in C/C++.Ignored
Dislikedspeaking as a pussy...your best way of making money is to speed up on your trigger... as far as i'm concerned that means getting the best speed out of your platform...coordination with charting and execution of trades. Yes , entry is crucial in these market conditions. Exit is even more crucial. It looks like you're getting neither if you choose to joke as you do. Poor wee thing.Ignored
DislikedI totally agree and should really transfer the whole thing to C/C++, which I am going to learn, I am old school so still like the visual representation of MT4 and it is easy to program as the visual interface already exists.
I know I need to get away from it, not quite sure yet how I am going to go about it. My tickdata is already in SQL and that is probably going to be the infrastructure I will end up building the whole thing from as I don't really want to redo that part either.Ignored
