I think modified version of this EA could be very good, but some filters are required. What are your experience dear members of this forum?

I would like the work of this group to continue with the generosity of the author and participants.

I know of people who build a pension with this method.

I have another EA that works with the same principle, but much simpler than those published. But I only use this EA when I know, for example with the economic calendar, that that day there will be high volatility and only with highly volatile pairs such as those based on the pound.

This strategy, which is good, should not be run all the time because we know that the market has its lateralization phases that can last a long time and make the price bounce within the recovery zone, consuming the deposit with the constant increase in lots.

Furthermore, if a risk/reward ratio of 1/3, 1/4 is established, it is not essential to double the lots every time, but they can be a fraction of these as this video explains.

I thank the author of the thread again for his contribution and his work and I hope that we can still improve it because it means helping to improve people's lives.

It's truly inspiring that some people have been able to build long-term financial security, such as a pension, using this method. Your approach to selectively using the EA on days of high volatility, based on the economic calendar, seems very reasonable. You're absolutely right that running this strategy all the time, especially during market consolidation phases, can quickly deplete the deposit due to repeated trades within the recovery zone.
I think your point about using smaller lot increments instead of doubling them is key – this could significantly improve risk management and reduce pressure on the capital.
I would also like to revive this discussion because I believe the zone recovery system has great potential but requires further improvements and better adaptation to different market conditions. Perhaps we could collectively explore some aspects, such as:

  1. What specific filters (e.g., indicators like ATR, MA) work best to identify the moments when this strategy should be activated?
  2. What are your experiences with using this strategy on pairs other than those based on the pound?
  3. Has anyone tried adding automatic deactivation to the EA based on volatility or during hours of low market activity?

It’s fascinating that you mentioned knowing people who have successfully built a pension using this method. It would be incredibly valuable if you could ask them for more details about their approach and specific adjustments to the strategy. Gaining insight from their experiences could bring us much closer to understanding what works well and what doesn’t with this system.
Their feedback could provide practical examples of effective risk management, entry filters, or any modifications they’ve made to handle different market conditions. It would be a great step forward in improving the strategy and making it even more reliable.

Dear Kry, the gentleman who uses this method has a good deposit, at least 20,000 or 30,000 usd and applies this method on the pair on the AUDUSD or AUDCAD pair and started with micro lots. I do not know other parameters. His is a long-term investment without ever having withdrawn. I know that he also follows fundamental analysis. For the rest, no other indicators or strategies.

As far as I am concerned, I still have to watch your videos and experiment with your EA, but I am experimenting with my much simpler EA on GBPJPY with stop loss and take profit of 35 pips starting from 2:00 pm of his broker by opening two operations: sell and buy. I have seen that every day GBPJPY makes at least 70 pips so I have set myself the goal of closing with half the pips for each side. Lot 0.05 for 2000 usd.

The time is just my personal convenience due to my time zone as I don't have a VPS and in any case I try to hit the London and NY stock exchanges.

I keep an eye on the calendar to know which are the days with the greatest volatility with the pound.

Other details: since I open two operations, buy and sell with the same zone recovery and one of these surely goes into take profit the other can be left to run only to recover the loss and cancel it.

To be honest, if he is using 20K, 200K 2milions USD for me personally it means nothing especially when he don't made any previous withdraw, I know people who lost thousands of USD and even millions of USD, because strategy suddenly stopped working or don't worked from the beginning, but they don't made a proper due dilligence and don't checked how market is behave in different market conditions, for example market not always is technical... volatility can change etc.

If you could ask him aboout details, how many max trades he openes, what is average ZONE range? what maximum drawdown he allows? etc. It would be very nice, this strategy isn't the best, because lot size is increasing, modified martingale (not multiple by x2,00, but less), imho the best strategies are with fixed lot size and having edge only by using risk-reward ratio.

I still haven't understood how to use this EA. I only select M5 and if I enter manually, two opposite orders open, but without SL and without TP. If I enter a price for a pending order, nothing happens.

As per the attached chart, I would like to place a pending order in H1 where there is a hammer or pin-candle. If it is a purchase, the order will be on the maximum of the candle and the stop loss on the minimum of the candle. This is the recovery zone and the TP is equal to the distance between the minimum and maximum of the same candle.
Can anyone help me?

Sorry to bother you: the EA works well, but I still have to understand how to use it especially to set the take profit. I wanted to leave my previous post to give an example of how it can be used: knowing the reversal models well (there are few) is an example of how to plan operations without too many indicators.

Weekly operations on the last H4 candle on Friday, monthly operations on the last daily candle at the end of the month may give excellent ideas for trades.

Hello flashpaul, I never used first order as a pending order, I checked it on demo account now and it seems that EA doesn't works in this way, simply first trade must be "market execution" at current price then another pending order is waiting....

Instead it seems to work.

I opened two GBPJPY charts in H1 and placed a pending buy order above the high of the indicated candle and in another chart a pending sell order at the low of the candle.

Let's see what happens. The important thing is not to change the TF of the chart otherwise it will no longer open the other operations.

It has opened the buy trade and the oposite pending order of 0.20.

It is going on!

How many max trades do you use?
Recovery trade is also 200?

For now I'm trying to understand how to use this EA. I haven't understood the TP management yet.

In other versions when a trade reaches its SL, it is closed. Here instead it is left open and it is clear that we are quite covered, but the profit is less than if we closed the losing trades.

I like to operate only with GBPJPY and open a maximum of two trades a day, buy and sell with TP of 35 pips starting from the 12-13:00 candle of your broker. It is the first hour of the 4th H4 candle starting from the market opening.

Then there is a weekly trade once a week of 100 pips that I open on the high and low of the last H4 candle on Friday.

On the higher multiplication factor it is quicker to close, but you also risk more.

From the last example I opened buy and sell. Both trades were opened. Sell I closed in TP with 35 pips. The other one, which was a buy, doubled with the sell and is making money, but very little. I am tempted to close at zero and save the profit of the first operation.

But I want to understand when the second operation closes in profit to better set the EA.
